All 304 SS will rust, is not rust proof. Especially weather in Malaysia and the recent quality we get from 304.

Also if use the acid water to unblock the drain, the 304 sink will stain and change color. So be careful.

SS 304 will rust resistance not rust proof, time and condition will rust the 304. It may not show sign of rust, but it will corrode.

Water proof and water resistance is two difference things. Same as rust proof and rust resistance.

Sorry, i am not in English expert. In English it may be the same.
For gears, this are some explanation i found from uncle google.

"Waterproof" vs- "Water Resistant"

Watch:
Not 100 Percent

A water-resistant watch repels water but is not waterproof. No timepiece is completely impervious to water.

Virtually the Same

The term water resistant is viewed by watchmakers and sellers as being waterproof only up to a certain amount of water exposure.

Fabric:-
To be truly "waterproof", the garment must be made from a "waterproof" fabric and have sealed, or taped seams so that rain does not leak in through the small perforations made by sewing needles during the construction of the garment. Sealing and taping seams takes special equipment and extra time. As such, it adds substantially to the cost of the garment. If the garment is made from a "water resistant" fabric, that usually means that a coating has been applied to the fabric to help repel water. Water resistant fabrics work very well for light rains, or drizzels, but may get soaked over time and are not considered to be "rain gear". If you are looking for protection from rain, you must look for garments made from "waterproof" fabrics, not "water resistant" fabrics.
