Meaning I want to cancel the entire account of PSF and switch all existing units to PRSF.
In short, I do not want to invest in PSF anymore; I want all my units switched to PRSF.

I want to do this because I found out PRSF's 10-year performance is far better than PSF.

I want to know, if I switch all my units in PSF (eg. 10,000 units total) to PRSF, how would the NAV of these 10,000 units' become after switching to PRSF? Following the last NAV of PSF or PRSF?
*
PRSF - 100% allocated localy.
PSF - its 70/30%

if u switch by tomorrow, both will calculated base on tommorw price.

its better u switch half to PRSF insted of all.

my sugestion only.

High fees dampener for unit trust

By DALJIT DHESI
daljit@thestar.com.my
Unit trusts are gaining popularity among investors as an important source of investment and retirement savings. But are investors getting a fair deal from the high charges being imposed by the industry and will lower charges really mean better returns for investors?

THERE is nothing that really fazes a seasoned investor. They are used to losing and making money on the stock market. They understand the game.

*
unit trust still not popular in malaysia. tis is due to no enuf education abt tis industry. ppls dont want to invest not because of high SC, its because the risk.

as an agent i hv many experiance ppls saying that, i dont know abt UT, even UT in malaysia since 1959.

yes, i agree with high SC, but who going to distribute the unit trust if SC abolise? if so, sure UTMC biz will effected. and many agent income will effect too.

Don't understand the percentage here:
PRSF - 100% allocated localy.
PSF - its 70/30%
*
PRSF invest 100% in local market.

PSF invest 30% from the fund in foreign market.

PRSF looks better since malaysia market stable and doing well compare with foreign market.

take not past performance not indicative of future performance. that why i said switch partialy.

if u want take advantage of PRSF, switch all to bond first. later u switch to PRSF when the local market crash badly. the problem is we cannot time the market. maybe the next GE. or if greece out from euro. rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

my thought only.

talking about Next GE

if BN win, will market up or down? icon_question.gif
*
who will win the GE is not the matter. when parliment dibubarkan, all the big fish and FDI will/may redeem the shares and it may drop the KLCI.

if BN win, sure up.. up...up, no worries EPF and PNB is there.

if opposite win, it may drop and recover back.

A fund would be closed when all its shares is fully bought up (or close to that level)... nothing to do with its unit price... I don't think anyone buying into or selling out of the fund will affect the unit price.

Also when the price is lower, it does not necessary means it is performing poorly... it might be lower because of the economic situation in general, but it could also be out-performing its benchmark... an unit split or distribution at its financial year-end could also lower the unit price.

(Just my 2 cents... and trying to sound like an "expert".  biggrin.gif )

unit price will effect by UIC.

What is UIC?

My switching in and out of a fund will affect its unit price? Really? Please expand...
*
UIC = Unit In Circulation.

lets say Fund A.

daily units in the fund A will be change due to in/out no units daily. so its will effect the unit price.

unit price = NAV (fund value) / UIC.

pls read how the unit price calculated in master prospectus.

cheers.

yes, that's make sense.

there's an old joke... don't recalled it punchline or humor; but it's something like this... An investor was buying into a stock every month and as the stock had steadily increased 6 months straight, he was happy buying it without fail... so at the end of the 6th month, he wanted to sell and harvest the profit. But his stockbroker said there is no buyer. How is this so? The stock price had steadily climbed the past 6 months, he asked. Stockbroker said he was the sole buyer in the stock, and he himself has steadily bid up the price the past 6 months!

thank god PM has millions of units in a fund, and thousands of unit holders buying and selling...

or maybe I'm wrong about PM... should I be scared?  blink.gif
*
no worries, PM will buy back ur units at any of time..rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

Above was what I wrote last month, situation is almost the same, except the local bourse is at its peak.

Had just made myself a strong cup of coffee, take a sip and deep breath, and shot all the lame horses.

All these china and far east horses are limping and will loose another leg and will never recover & reach home.

So shot all of them, and sold them for dog food, taking a lost of 23k.  cry.gif

QUOTE(spagetti @ Jun 28 2012, 05:57 PM)
so does it mean it is a good fund if it is closing soon ? I was introduced to the small cap fund just 1 day ago.. i have limited time to do research on it.. i heard it has been open and closed for 3 times within 3 years currently.. so does it mean is good ?

btw, now if i invest the minimum and made it to dollar cost averaging monthly, is it suitable at this time.. FYI, i'm still a beginner in this field... just got to know the share market overall now is not in good condition.

Appreciate all your kind opinion on this..the agent said tmr is the closing date..
*
if u new, dont hurry to buy the UT. educate urself first. if small cap closed, no worry Public Strategic SmallCap Fund (PSSCF) is there for u. if u got to know, share maket not good time now, find out why for ur own benefits.

yes.. distribution calculated base on how many units u r holding. not when u bought it. even if u switch 1 day before the FYE, u still entitle..... if any.

why u want to switch to the fund? is it because the distribution?
