so far that is the case. unless hasbro re-issues them and toys r us get their stocks. i dont think independent retailers will re-order them since they have surplus sets.

what i do hope is that they bring in the normal edition. apparently cases of variant sets are sent to Asia and the americans are left with tons of normal editions..

Yeah, I've just learned that Malaysians are into japanese toys instead of western figures. In the Philippines there are also a lot of Kamen Rider and other Japanese toys (Figmas, Revoltechs, SICs, SOCs, Nendos, statues, etc. etc. etc.) but most collectors lean towards action figures (DC, Marvel, NECA) and TFs since their prices are cheaper.

I collect mostly Marvel Figures and Transformers (with some overrun DC figures and Revoltech thrown in). Loose Marvel Legends toys are really hard to come by here (or maybe I'm just looking for them at the wrong places hahaha). Now I'm worried about how I can get the figures that I want in the next wave of Marvel Legends. Good figures in the recent waves are already becoming rare in the Philippines. Actually the good ones don't reach retail anymore (during wave 1 of Hasbro's Marvel Legends relaunch only Constrictor and Klaw reached retail). To prevent ordering a lot of stocks that would end up only in mark downs and sales, toy distributors of Hasbro in the Philippines partner with a local toy forum to organize a toy distribution event everytime a new wave comes in. During this event you need to sign up first before buying and they have a strict rule of getting one fig/wave per person (to also avoid scalping). But if you miss the toy distribution event you have to resort to hobby shops with jacked up prices! Good thing I saw the announcement the night before the distribution.
