i think i will wait until this problem is solved. then only i will mod my ODD to SSD. btw, what are sandforces controllers? what are they for actually?
*
Every SSD has a controller which most of SSDs in market are using Sandforces Controller which it is very problematic like our N45 biggrin.gif so I prefer to get a little lower speed but without any problem.

@Mohammad.2mt, not considering Intel SSD ?
The SSD performance..
*
Crucial is much better in performance against Intel
Of course 500 series are good but they start from 128GB which they are out of my budget biggrin.gif

On device manager, got show your HDTV under monitor?
Open the Intel HD control panel, got detect TV ?
But rarely see Crucial, even Crucial C300 is hard to find..
*
That is my problem
I am looking for Crucial and it was so funny that many shoppers (Most of them) in Lowyat even did not know what is SSD and those who knew what is it did not hear the name of Crucial rclxub.gif

Guys, can recommend any nice SSD ar. I think i wanna get a either 80gb or 120gb. And whats the different between Sata 2 and sata 3 one? Does it a vast difference in performance? budget like 500-600 i think.
*
I suggest Crucial M4 64GB or 128GB if you can afford it
If you can find it tell me because I could not find it in lowyat

bro u can try that one out.

So, sata 3 is basically like more future proof? X25m is sata 2 right?
*
Yes
It is better to get Sata III when your laptop can support it

well ya coz not really sure our model truly supports sata 3 or not. Its stated there sustained writes speed is 75mb/s. So its like if u copy large size file the max speed it can go is like 75mb/s? And if i use this along with my 5400rpm hdd will the hdd slow down the performance of this ssd?

sorry i really noob in this >.<
*
Bro believe me the reading and writing speed are not really important
IOPS is more important that them

what are IOPS for actually? i see X25M one is around 6.6k to 8.6k
*
The speed of random reading and random writing
The problem of HDDs is not the speed of reading and writing the problem is The speed of finding the file
When you want to open a program or boot your windows thousands of files must be loaded and it can reduce the performance of SSD or HDD if the speed of finding is not good
Of course the reading and writing is important but just in copy and paste

So it would be better if we just put OS and programmes in SSD, then other files like music or videos we just put in hdd? If we read movies from hdd it buffers using the ssd or hdd? rclxub.gif

and regarding the hwinfo, i only see my hdd sata 3.0gb/s and odd 1.5gb/s
*
Yes that is why I just want to get 64GB
It is good enough for OS and Programs and some games and I believe more than that is wasting money
I did not check the interface
let me check

ya i know, but what indicates its 1333mhz? mine one is like pc3-10700(667mhz).
*
667x2=1333
that is because of DDR rams which they work in dual channel

ic lol. But crucial are kinda hard to get. If import, if anythings happen wanna claim warranty also difficult. Might end up intel 500 series for sata 3 or x25 series for larger capacity
*
If you afford it intel 500 series are good but start from 128GB and I can not afford them biggrin.gif
