i tot inisght is default semi-syn one.

but top up rm20++ is cheap anyway. i would rather treat my insight nicer by letting it to drink a better engine oil despite we do service at every 5k.

yeah, even u didn't add on the windscreen coverage, u can still claim from ur msig or tokio marine, just that ur NCD voided only.

there are owner from cari already done the repair for his windscreen.

"大镜是rm3700, 装工rm2++, 加service charge, 总共rm4000。加上tint rm280。
我的大镜等了2个月多,claim保险rm4000, 自己出rm280"

meaning you have adjusted since you collected the car? any difference in driving & noise?
*
Yes, I have adjusted the tyre pressure according to the manual after 2 weeks. As for the car ride, it is definitely better. Not so hard and bumpy. However, did not really noticed any difference with the tyre noise. Not much tyre noise in the first place.

can someone tell me how good is insight for frequent long distance driving (JB - KL - IPOH). In terms of reliability and comforts when we drive at least 120 km/h. I assumed its fc is good enough to consider for long distance travel.
*
The Insight is a very comfortable car for long distance. Generally speaking, I've managed to achieve around 19km/l with highway speeds around 110 - 120 kmh with some occasional speeds of 130-150 kmh. My trip was from KL to Singapore

Car handled very well and was general quiet. Not much tyre noise to complain about. It was also very stable at high speeds.

thanks everyone for the reply
how frequent you travel? when should I start to worrid for any major maintenance? Am pretty much concern on the reliability of the car due to frequent travel. Maybe its just my mindset that hybrid engine might be fragile compared with conventional engine.

its sounds good enough for me. would everyone suggest me to have one?
*
Well I only got my car this 20th July and so far so good. No complains so far.
The hybrid batteries has a warranty of 5 years. smile.gif

Hello fellow Insight owners, i'm really2 sorry that i need to disturb your thread but  i really2  need some help for my university's final year project about online car forums( it's a survey!)

It's a 10 question survey which probably take you around 2 minutes.

THIS IS NOT SPAM, VIRUS OR SPYWARE~!

My Survey

Please don't report me, i'm doing it for the sake of my studies sad.gif

Thanks a lot in advance!
*
It would be better if you open a new topic to post your survey than to post multiple postings in all the topics. It is very irritating to open all topics to see the same message agin and again. rclxub.gif

KL-Penang 19km/l  110km/h
penang - KL 20.5km/l 120-130km/h

drive in balik pulau hill area penang 4 adult 4 children no power to climb
*
Wow 4 adults + 4 children. The total max gross weight of the car may have been exceeded. Assuming 4 adults at 60 kg each = 240 kg. Add 4 children at 30 kg each = 120 kg. Total weight = 360 kg. Total car weight would be 1240 +360 = 1600kg. This would be very close to the max allowable gross vehicle weight of the car. Maybe even exceeding. No wonder no power to climb.

How did you squeeze so many people in the car? As you know it is not a big car.

hmmm. never knew that. but i really have no time to put my car at SC and let them do the job coz i need the car to go to work and have been really busy recently so i just thinking of doing it on my own on a fine sunday evening.

i am bz during weekdays until i still hav yet to collect my insurance policy documents from my SA after months geting my car sad.gif
*
The SC will touch it up during your service and you can take it back the same day. I have got them to do some minor touch up on my Honda when I get some stone chips or light scratches. However as they touch it up with brush and not spray, you can still see the touch up. However, the paint Colour will match existing. So far did not charge me for it.

hi guys. i nid someone to enlighten me in doing the pedal side light. something like the Honda package.

and, do u guys notice, when we reverse towards slope road, it seems cant accelerate. we nid press more on pedal in order to reverse.

is dis a problem? or its normal? any explanation on dis?
*
Yea I noticed it too. However, I just got used with it and press the accelerator more. So far no problems. Have reversed up very steep inclines successfully. maybe it is just the final gear ratio for the reverse being a bit different.

Updates:

after make a complaint to HM last time, got follow up call from them said estimated delivery of the windscreen is on 10th @ 11th October...

let see if its true..
*
Good to hear that HM is trying to get it earlier for you. Anyway, having to wait so long for a windscreen is unacceptable. HM should be keeping ample stock of such a basic thing. Hope HM will read and ensure that this incident will not happen again.

@limkj , wan to ask u install the auto lock at Honda sc, did u saw they install a module or they program something on your car so our multi-purpose display that  can play this features just like US insight?
*
Installed via their authorized 3rd party installer. They did not program the car as this function was not included in the car although it did have some references in the manual about programming it.

However, I went through the SC to avoid voiding my car warranty.

Took my car up to Genting highlands today. Total of 2 passengers and a driver. The car was very responsive going up. With the vehicle stability assist, going around the sharp bends was a breeze. No car managed to overtake me going up. In fact, the performance was better than I expected. Fuel consumption going up was 12.2 KM/L.

As for going down Genting Highlands, the experience was just amazing. Battery was fully charged most of the time and engine noise was minimum. Fuel consumption coming down was 34KM/L

How's that for my Genting experience!

respect you on this DIY mode...

I found out our boot lamp is able to have on original position just like other country insights does... The Lens Cover is cost RM 78 as I check from one of the Service Center...  The procedure to get it done :

1) Lens Cover cost RM 78
2) Ask technician to bring the wire
3) Drill big hole to put the Lens Cover
4) Put LED
5) Job Done

I envy u guys, I only can drive my insight during the weekends cos I'm working in SG now. Occasionally I will drive in with my car if I'm tired with bus or I require mobility or flexibility here (yea, screw the VEP n parking fees).
I'm back in klang most of the weekends. Notice insight is a rare breed here. Heard it cost SGD 120k with Coe. Gonna drive back in insight tmr.

I thought you are not allowed to drive Malaysian registered cars in Singapore if you are A Malaysian with a Singapore work permit or a Singaporean Citizen.

confirmed got wind sound, in fact no need 160km/hr, above 100km/hr already got wind sound.

even sound insulation for insight is lousier than NHC.
i owned both cars so i know.
*
I do not have any noticeable wind noise on my Insight. Have tried it at 100 - 170 km/h without problems. Cabin noise relatively quiet. Definitely NVH is better than the Honda City

Your insight may have some leaking problem at the windscreen.
