Just got a stand still race with a Altis 2.0 Dual VVTI CVT....

Insight can keep up with Altis up to 140km/h then small 1.3 engine start to get out of breath...

Conclusion... the torque is AWESOME!!!

Here is your answer...

1: a typical vios/city will get you 14km/l average fuel consumption an Insight will get you 19-25km/l (19 Econ off / 22-25km/l ECON on)

2. Battery do not cost RM7K it cost RM5K at the moment all Insight have 5 years Warranty on Battery but the replacement have only 6 months (consumer need to fight the replacement battery 6 month warranty lifespan) but google around and you will notice Insight battery is actually NIMH D-Cell type battery in serial layout. in US the previous generation of insight have their battery replace by 3rd party and it only cost RM1500 to RM2000 provided the 3 IMA circuit board is in good condition (so just replacement of wear/faulty batteries is RM1,500 t0 RM2,000) they even replace with a better stronger maH battery which provide longer distance per charge

3. With insight you get 100% rebate on Import TAX and Duties and this is the actual cost what the manufacturer build that worth... with other car (non hybrid) you pay RM50K in TAX so what you get is RM50K cheaper car build value...

4. you pay 10K and you get Traction Control (a active safety that really really can save your life.... well if your life is worth extra 10K) and you also get Automatic headlight / automatic wipers, 2 tear dashboard meter that only found in civic, 3D display upper tiered panel display.....

for me the VSA/Traction control is worth extra 10K

There is no bluetooth audio on Insight... however there is USB and yes ipod/iphone compatible which bring all control to the audio player...

The start stop function will not stress the aircond compressor as this compressor is made for hybrid...

The start stop function is kinda aggressive / jerky sometime you will feel the engine come back to life but a little comfort I can sacrifice for the fuel savings... beside wasting fuel at traffic light is plain wasting!!!

I manage to achieve 19-22km/l every day driving to work and coming back from work my work journey (Kepong<-->Sungai Buloh<-->Subang Airport) it take 30min to work and 45-1 hour to come back home... usually going to work I manage 22km/l and going back usually 19-20km/l how to do this the trick is follow the ECON colour changes and Eco Guide Bar... you drive like a dic* you get a fuel consumption like a... you get it dic*!!!

Insight is a very powerfull car for a 1.3 the acceleration is on par with a toyota Altis 2.0 Dual VVTi CVT... (I try it my self)

compare to forte... Forte is a very good car... but the resale value of Korea car is not mature and you will be taking risk on resale value... also the parts I heard dont last that long (no comment on this) but you can take risk...

for RM98K and made in japan... I go for MADE IN JAPAN

Bro.... Insight meter uses LED lah it is very similar to Odyssey meter (lower cluster) the top tier is 3D display

Actually the design of the meter is a hybrid of Honda Odyssey and Civic...

I kinda like it less plain and boring...

First of all, all KAH motor workshop sucks, it has been well known in Honda City (Team City / HCC) community

me particularly have banned all KAH motor service outlets they suc*ed and they lied!!! full stop!!!

My SC no problem complaint on the sound of my Insight they told me need time to diagnose the sound... so the technician sit beside me and I drive and show him the sound... he then confirm the sound... after that I make appointment drop my car there for 3 days (I was going out of Malaysia so no problem) and when I come back collect the car the sound is fixed apparently it is not Honda fault or the car it is the HID installation done outside but they fix it also and FREE... I like me SC

Some "tak tak" sound cause by the HID ballast (the ACC shop never install it properly and left it hanging there Dammit)
