1. Make sure you have your phone rooted. Normal and easy way is via CF root (Check xda forum for CF series).
2. Backup!
3. Place the VR files into your sd on your phone.
4. Off phone
5. Volume up, home button and power all at same time - this will go into CWM recovery mode
6. If you have back up, choose back up.
7. Once done, select - clear data, clear cache and go to advance, select clear dalvik
8. Now, select Install update from Zip or something like that.
9. Scroll to the VR zip and select it.
10. Wait for boot up. Will take awhile.
11. If it stuck at loading / bootloop, off phone, and wipe and reflash back via CWM.

There you go.

Good battery life:
Ninpo and SpeedMod. SpeedFrey, haven try yet.

I have already rooted my phone using Super One Click so i can skip this step right?

Is anyone else here rather underwhelmed by the audio performance on the SGS2? Having come from the iPhone, the audio quality on this phone is significantly worse. The only workarounds seem to be using PowerAmp, which is a paid app. Can't get that, at least not yet. Anyone got any other tips for better audio quality?

i am crush badly by this fact sad.gif when i bought my SGS2. Before this i have test my friend SGS which have a quite decent music quality thus i think the sgs2 will have equal if not better but it turn out i was wrong. I even bought RM450 earphone but it still doesn't satisfied me the only way is to get an AMP.

GH-X, I tried playing FLAC songs on stock un-amped. The quality is bad. Significant difference even if I play songs un-amped on my PC. The only way is to get a headphone amp. They don't come in cheap though. Especially good ones. The Fiio E11 is one of the more budget oriented ones. What earphones are you using?
*
Yup it's a sad truth that android best phone to date got worse in audio department. I am using denon AH-C710 i had a chance to try Hippo Box AMP and Fiio E11 and i must say i am impress with Hippo Box. Haven't got it yet though but planning to do so soon. Still now i need to carry something extra again which was the reason i bought SGS2 in order to reduce gadget i carry around.

Its roughly 2/3 the size of the SGS2. And it comes with a rubber band thats meant for taping the amp together with any mobile devices.

Hmm never knew about that. Hope it wont be troublesome. BTW what Earphone are you using and What AMP?

You can't improve what isn't there. At this stage amplifing a poor signal will just give you a louder poor signal :-P

Well at least it can boost the bass and high gain. Which is ok for me.
