Oh like that. Guess im getting a hedgie soon instead of sg. Cost for starting also cheaper rite? No need to buy sangkar, just that toyogo box. But is it ok if i biar it at home for 5 days like that cause im just free at the weekend. Left at home meaning let my brother or mom take care of it. Or is it will be hard to bond?

QUOTE(olivur @ Mar 20 2012, 01:18 PM) be sure to get the necessities such as bedding / feed / misc before jumping the gun.such mentioned goods are transferable but if you change your mind after getting the hog, well that's just irresponsible now isn't it Yea you rite. I make sure ill be a responsible owner. I already make some research bout this, and been thinking about getting one for several weeks already. Hope nothing goes wrong when i get it later. |

QUOTE(TeliLeti @ Mar 22 2012, 08:45 AM) I would advise against getting a box where the hedgehog can climb out. I've had my share of poo & pee all over the kitchen floor because Huffster will always escape from his previous cage (the first picture with the mini playpen). |

QUOTE(TeliLeti @ Mar 23 2012, 09:05 AM) Before I extended the height using the steel wiring, he climbed out. After I extended it, he went UNDER the playpen. Srsly? Haha that was quite funny and effing smart also. Then I changed his cage to a Toyogo box and put in a shoe box as his hide-box. He climbed on top of the shoe box and jump out of his cage, into my female hedgehog's cage (my mum placed the two Toyogo boxes next to each other). That's how I ended up with Chubster having three babies. He's such a troublemaker. I should be careful if i have one later. Never thought that they'll do anything to escape like that. lol |

QUOTE(Haur626 @ Mar 26 2012, 07:20 PM) I'm using wood litter bedding for my hedgie only in his litter pan, cuz I'm using fleece bedding for him. And he's potty trained!!! I think it's safe, but I don't know which pellet bedding you're talking about. http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2184485 this is the bedding. When I got my hedgie on the first day he don't poo and pee much also but he ate alot, I'm not sure about him shaking. Maybe he don't get used to the environment? Or he's cold? Or you could try to calm him down. Hmm i dont think he's cold. Cos i used towel as bedding. And he hid below the towel to sleep. How to calm it down? He look tame now as when i pick him up. He dont hiss or anything. But when i put him on the floor. He just sit tight and pretty shaky. Im afraid he is sick or something. |

QUOTE(Haur626 @ Mar 26 2012, 07:42 PM) Take him to the vet or ask your breeder? Or maybe your hedgehog has been trying to hibernate OR could have Wobbly Hedgehog Syndrome? I'm just guessing. Ya, I think the pellet litter should be fine. But you gotta take him to the vet asap to check. Try to take him to some quiet and warm places. well i guess its not WHS as he doesnt wobbly at all. i'll let him settle down abit. he just arrived here yesterday. so maybe hes not familiar with new enviro. just done give snack for both of em. after that both dug under the towel and continue to sleep -.-QUOTE(berman517 @ Mar 26 2012, 09:17 PM) damn i realize my hedgie got a little standing/walking issue... maybe he just abit lalok la. happened when it walk up from sleep... is this normal? by the way how much does it cost for normal check up at vet? QUOTE(nuttycoconut @ Mar 30 2012, 10:49 AM) Hello fellow hedgehogs lovers, i suggest just single because it is solitary animal. if wanna have two, you need to separate them.I am seriously thinking about having hedgehogs. I had one previously, Tubby. Had him for 3 years, he died early this year. I miss his company. Will it be advisable to have them in pair? Same gender or 2 different genders? Thanks. |
