Watch out bro, too skinny ur baby. Try to feed him mealworm or superworm to boost him up a bit or the better way is to bring to vet.
*
Mmkay. I'll feed him mealworms everyday for several days. And see the outcome 1st. But afraid if so many mealworms given then hell not eat the kibbles.

Gutload means "feed the mealworm b4 feed it to ur hedgie"  biggrin.gif . Normally when v buy those mealworm from petshop, those worm will looks very skinny. So just put a slice of bread or fruit for the mealworm to eat for a day or two. Then only u feed them it ur hedgie.

If u  mix mealworm and kibbles then i'm sure ur hedgie will eat all mealworm and left the kibble untouch
*
Oh haha. Ok ill gutload em 1st. And give him once every 2 days.
Btw. My hedgies seems not to like fruit and vege. I tried gave them watermelon papaya and sawi before. But they lick it a bit and annoint their selves. Lol. Is it bad if they re not eating fruits?

Edit : btw how do u keep the mealworms eh. I keep em in small container and they'll die within a week.

im not sure. but ive read somewhere said it is ok to feed. and not to worry if worms biting our hedgies because they usually munch their prey before swallow. but if you really worried just serve em dead or without head.

yeah i guess it depends on hedgehogs itself.
i have 3 hedgies. cici, ciki and nini. nini is the only one seems to be litter trained. but not perfect cause sometimes she missed. lol. the other 2. they still poo on those litter box. and also all over the place. fail. all of them didnt bite. and only ciki looks real tame. he never raised his quills nowadays. unless startled lah. cici is still quite a huffy and the fattest among my hedgies. and nini is kind of nervous hedgie. shes not huffing. but she ran away when i try to pick her ;D

But I read here and somewhere else that grapes are toxic to small animals including hedgehog? Which one is true? And for the yogurt, can use the same yogurt we eat that sell in supermarket? Hedgies are lactose intolerant as well, right? So other than milk, what other things it cannot it? I thought all dairy things can't? That include eggs, yogurt, and cheese, right?[/quote]

I feel so paiseh asking again, do anyone know the answer to my question? sweat.gif blush.gif

hmm. im not sure. but as for milk. i thought only cow milk cant be consumed by hedgies. but they can consumed goat milk.
i guess grapes is fine because i read somewhere, his hedgies love raisins.
about other things need to ask sifus here lah. icon_rolleyes.gif

Hehe, u need to pay me $$$ for training fees leh  brows.gif . Just kidding lah. Okay no secret here, 1st the hedgie must be "super tame" and well bond with u. This female hedgie is very super tame, she never huff or poke me b4. Then u flip her over, of course she will struggle to flip back. Hold her gently, rub and massage her on the tummy and the "throat  / neck" part. If u ever own a cat or dog then u should know how enjoy they are when being massage on the "throat / neck" part. Slowly she will be like fall to sleep.

Oh chinti is in US... damn tedious procedure to import pet into malaysia lah, if can get the platinum color then that will be cool  brows.gif  But last time I've seen the price in web about $1K+ dollar. sweat.gif

haha damn. that was awesome! you should do a video!
gonna try on my hedgies soon tongue.gif

My hedgehog have just gave birth last night. Actually i didnt really know when. but i just realize it last night. that moment. when i checked her cage. shes acting strange. she clicked at hissed at me. also i noticed that there are many shredded papers in her nest box. but still i didnt know what happening. so i keep on touching her nestbox and shes keep on clicking. then suddenly i heard a little squeak. and i saw some movement below. just then i realized. oh ma gad. that is her babies. no wonder shes so grumpy. and also i was thinking that im f***ed. because i f*** her peaceful moment and she would maybe eat those babies. argh. after that i quickly get her food and fill the dishbowl. mehh. hope shes not eating her babies. and just now after back from work i saw a baby outside and not moving. i guess it was dead. i dont know how long it has been there. so should i pick it up and bury it? i guess yes. hmm. i hope theres still some babies left in another 1-2 weeks. because i wouldnt dare to check it at this moment.

be positive.. it being left outside is maybe the babies was unhealthy or died during the first few days of take care.. since is her first deliver so will not be that smooth... but for now just keep out from the cage la.. i got 2 times mother eating her babies experient and first time was 3 babies and 2nd time was 5.. so just keep out from the cage and dont change anything from inside the cage or her surrounding.. wait for few weeks before start touching it... this is my experient la.. just sharing it and hope no one repeat my mistake... hahahha

thanks for advice. and maaaannn she eats 5 babies? thats sick! actually what is the exact day u start checking the babies? dont get me wrong. i already do some reading. and i just wanna ask someone with experience.

@gaianeo thanks. this one hedgies is quite shy. so i guess it will take a long time. better safe than sorry rite biggrin.gif

@telileti oh. that 1 baby thaat i mention before was already dead. i pick it up with spoon and i saw like blue color? darah beku? at his tummy and one of its leg. so sad. idk whats causing that. its like lebam. after that i just bury it in flower pot in front of my house. i try to lure her with mealworms but no response. though, i'm not sure if shes eating. there are still have some kibbles and mealworms in her dishbowl. but at the day she gave litter, she sure eat quite alot because the dish and waterbowl is really empty. is it maybe shes still full? hmm.
