my name is fatin and you can call me athen    i'm still newbies in this landak-mini arena.i'm keeping one as pet by next week 

but i'm facing one problem here.i live in n9 and study at jb.can hedgehogs handle 3hours car journey? i read from the previous post that they might vomit throughout the entire journey 

i'm planning to put him inside a shoebox with clothes n etc because i think travelling w his cage will cost him more pening pening lalat.is it a good idea sifus?

Hi got some questions

1) Is it dangerous? LIke if feel threaten cos not familiar wif u then bite u or something?

2) When taking it out from cage to cuddle it, will it run away and hide in almari or something that u wont be able find it anymore?

poke u mean use the needle at the back? if accident touch the needle will i get bleeding? oso will it shoot the needle like watch some cartoon?

yup.UTM  i'll go back to college by car.i mean.i drive to jb from n9   
but sometimes during weekend holidays i rather go back to my hometown by bus.hehe.so how can i handle my hedgies while i'm driving? 

I accidentally poked myself in the thumb with one of the baby's fallen quills today. That drew blood. Boo.

Chubster lost quite a bit of fur on her forehead.
I don't think it's a mite problem, just really dry skin.
I applied some oil on her forehead yesterday night because I noticed that it was reddish & had spots of blood. Today, small patches of the dried skin fell off with the fur on it. She looks like she has eyebrows now. Little white eyebrows, just above both eyes.

If you travel for long hours with a hedgehog, take frequent breaks if possible. Stop by at rest areas & check if it's okay. Cuddle a bit before continuing on.

Yellow stuff on the EARS? No.
The dried skin on Chub's forehead was yellow but that's because I applied oil on her skin.

Do the ears look tattered? If it does, you may have a mite problem.

Hmm, doesn't look like dry skin to me. D:
If it's a dry skin problem, you will see little, white flakes of dead skin.

Since you're in JB & probably don't know any vets, try bathing your hedgie & see if the problem goes away?
Apply some oil & see if it can kill the fungal infection or something?
Might as well try any method that you know before visiting a vet.

wah, wake up early morning just to play with your hedgie? what a good papa.... 

now she's telling me its cruel for the hedgehog. she keeps telling me, how wud u feel if u were locked up in an enclosure. 
i've saw some of the users' hedgies. very very very the CUTE lo walau!

btw, how strong is the smell of their pee on poo?

^ smellier than ur poo. Imagine that!

Guys do your hog sleep alot? My hog sleep like no tomorrow. Will only wake up once food been served. When take out from the container walk a bit only.  Izzit normal?

Mine 3 month ++ wonder why??

@ ddr3: Huffy is his size as well. I do think both are smaller than usual if I compare his size to Chubster (who is nearly 1 year) now.

Is your hedgie an albino??

I think urs is a 'Lilac' from the blue fawn dilute, where the eyes have a blue overcast.. Is ur hedgie a male??

just wondering, how much do you guys set aside as emergency money just in case, JUST IN CASE, your hedgie has to visit the vet?
those ang moh websites keep saying exotic vets charge quite expensively, I'm wondering, how much do they charge in Malaysia?

Wah, ruby eye and blue over cast in the eyes.. It could be a 'Lilac Cream' or totally a NEW COLOUR !!! What do you think ???
