my hedgie recently starts dropping fur.
but there is no bald spot, he's still fluffy and active.
is it normal? could be caused by the food (RC32)?

QUOTE(adriangoh @ Feb 10 2014, 09:39 AM) already sort out my hedgie thing. i use nail clipper to cut. the normal ones that we human use.should be the food which cause this as i feed him with hedgehog premium food and after i change to rc36 he got back his appetite, poop get back to normal. the discharge is clear fluid so i guess is running nose but now is all well. gain weight quite fast now. need to get a bigger cage and fit in the wheel for exercise. the thing im scratching my head now is his nails. but if u have shaky hands, bad eye sight, no accuracy or no patience, suggest u buy the sand paper. i will wait till my hedgie is relax on my palm, and the legs are dangling out, then only cut it. i only cut the back legs. front leg is already nicely trimmed, probably from the digging. if yours is super friendly, maybe you can trim it like the way a mum trims her baby's nails. |

QUOTE(Faint @ Feb 26 2014, 11:21 AM) Hi, yup i think of having baby but is it just a while or i can put them togather fo long ? Can i spay hedge ? Still vv new on hedgehog as 1 have mine for 1 year only and sole 1 .... think maybe should get hima partner . what is your advice ? Is it okay just single for the rest of his live ? i have mine shorter time than you. im not experience myself. i just read here and there.as you know, hedgehog are solitary animals, so i dont think it'll be a problem if they are alone. having its owner and comfortable home suffice. you should spend some time going through the threads, and then ask yourself are you really really prepared to have its babies? read if you have the time http://www.exoticnutrition.com/brhe.html |

hi guys. 2 question:
1. im feeding my hedgehog blackwood. the kibble has a hole in the middle and i notice he struggles eating it because the kibble will get stuck on his upper palate. so i have to break it before feeding him. anyone else has this problem? any other kibble to recommend that does not have hole in the middle? 2. is it ok to feed dog food instead of cat food? many thanks! |
