My choice always be Triton 3.2... price diff not much.. just RM10k & with that diff Monthly Installment also not much diff as well. Can be couple of buck..

For Hilux... stay away that I can say coz latest D4 engine not tough as old engine... SC only can take out speed limit cut after the Hilux age 3 years.. Why after 3 yrs coz got a few D4 engine blow after took out speed limit cut before...

i agree with this
the new hilux is not as good as the old hilux
and very underpower
but for your triton suggestion...i suggest 2.5 is enough
because 3.2L might be alot difference but torque and HP only increase abit only
yet 3.2L need to pay alot more roadtax
i recommend getting the 2.5L and add a box that boost the power
but if u have money...go for navara..that thing is dam fast

How about Nissan Navara?
*
nissan navara is a monster...damn fast
but the price of the car is no affordable for some ppl
but i prefer it...cuz it's only 2.5L but u get 3.XL performance but u only pay 2.5L roadtax

break down faster. Higher fc. Higher maintenance. Higher power. Uncomfortable rear seat. Worth it?
*
depends la...if you're always carrying 3-4 passenger thn not worthed
but if 1 or maybe 2 thn worthed
but how high is the maintenance?

Highest among all. 12k alone for maintenance from new car to 100,000km like oil change, filters, etc.
It is a truck for power addicts.

haha...i saw alot of navara here in sabah
hmm...overall for value for money...triton is still the best since they give u 5 years free service
that saves u alot of money...u just take there, sit thn drive home only...nothing comes out from wallet
but if navara also offer 5 years free service...would it be worthed?

I'm from Sarawak, so road tax should not an issue for either 2.5 or 3.0. And in east Msia Triton only offer 2 years free service with 3 years warranty. Whereby Hilux (new facelift on Oct 2011) no free service with 3 years warranty.

Thanks.

hilux never offer free service be4...they thought they top brand
toyota models never ever offer free service be4
and service is very expensive
try see la...some offer 5 year free service...or maybe it's promo...other member can answer on this

for long term usage, nothing beat the hilux 3.0.
the hilux 2.5 variant is under power.
btw, why choose auto? aren't east malaysia's road is tailored for manual gearbox?
i drove a navarra auto the other day and even with the short burst of power dumped at 2k rpm, overtaking on a cross country road is not as composed as those with manual gearbox.
*
east malaysia also better off with auto
east malaysia also jam like west also...so better with auto
weekend drive manual thn ok...everyday drive thn will cry

Still valid? I visited Mitsubishi showroom few days ago to check out their RA version. And i was told they are offering free first 3 service including oil, filter and labour. Not sure if still providing 5 yrs free labour.

The RA version kinda nice man... Especially the leather seats. But 2.5 only... sad.gif
*
not sure..need to visit showroom to know
maybe is promo
and i saw the RA on website....3 years warranty..2 years free service
and no..it's not 5 years free labour...it's real 5 years free service....everything included
this is what is told by my dad's fren
1 time saw him at SC also go home without paying

ive own both for spesific purpose

1. Hilux 2.5
-daily routine as a work horse since 3 years ago n clocked 300k km now
-carry almost 700-800 kg of stuff most of the time
-maintenance always carried out timely
PROB
-none. absoblodylutely nothing major of a prob.

2.Triton 2.5
-loving the look so only using it as family transport or city use
-only clocked 89k now also 3 years
-maintenance done timely
PROB
1. Major tranny/gear prob which cause it stuck on 1 gear some of the time
luckily still within warranty , if not it cost rm1600
2.back leaf spring start to make sound after 60k km
*
3 year 300k??
WOW...you sure are heavy driver
how far did u drive per day actually
hilux is a very good car...the only downside is it's underpower
it's the most underpower of all if u check the spec...even d-max 2.5 have more torque then hilux

Anyone care to share the fuel consumption for Hilux 2.5 and 3.0?

Should I go for 3.0? Does it worth the 10k difference?

Thanks.
*
go for 3.0
more power
but roadtax will hurt abit
