My partner and I are most likely going to adopt a Winter White and a Syrian soon (in separate cages, of course!). Conditions in pet stores are deplorable and very sad and the cages marked for sale are far too small. How any animal can be happy with no room to run around in, I cannot imagine. Hopefully we will have luck finding some nice spacious cages that aren't terribly expensive.

Thank you kindly for the advice smile.gif Indeed, we were looking at such cages for a Syrian, but we're only getting one, as we read that Syrians prefer to be alone.

yeah... they prefer to be alone. but if they want mating. how ? laugh.gif once awhile, i suggest you let them out the cage, walk in da room... but, do watch over them.. since they pretty brilliant to search escape route. they might not escape for the first time outside da cage, but next outing, will be their escape mission laugh.gif

hi all, i just bought a pair (female+male) robo hamster from B&D Aquatic Pets Shop in Ampang. but within one hour the male died (symptoms include hands & feet jerking around), i went back and the shop gave me a replacement, then today the female died out of a sudden. I do not understand why but can anybody give me some help or tips to care for them?

their home is a 30(W)30(H)20(D) cage with some wood pellet bedding, a training wheel, a second floor house, a food bowl, some cloth and a feeding bottle. i got them the Hagen hamster food and put it inside a tray.

not noisy at all... normal movements in the room, distant sound from the busy roads about 300m away.. or could it be due to the loud creak when i open my room door?

it was recommended by the shop keeper, he said the hamster will grind their teeth on it and eventually make it become tiny pieces. and i saw some in the original tank they were in.
