Sorry, I'm still new in this and I've only seen the minichamps version on their online catalouge.
*
oh sorry, forgot to mention minichamps too. though those are a bit expensive, and im not liking their red interior. need to repaint both exterior metal cast and the red interiors sad.gif

Quazacolt: Since im not into classics, as far as i know only minichamps got the most nice build quality of all brands that make 300SL. (I THINK). You can wait for Sky to reply you on this, since he is a merc enthusiast. But since you think minichamps are pricey to you, just get the bburago one. I thought most of the classic collectors like their models to be super detailed? icon_idea.gif
*
actually to be honest, thats what id prefer too, and the pricing differences isnt that huge. the biggest problem is that i want my model interior to be in white/biege/grey at least, and minichamps are having them red sad.gif

*
yeah i admit they do look nice, however it is in contrast to my requirement, so i have to repaint it if thats the case ^^;

Quazacolt: too bad i cnt answer your question sad.gif  because so far i dun see any 1/18 SL300 gullwing silver with other color interior othn thn red...unless u are willing to get 1/24 silver Sl300 which will come across your requirement ( My Webpage )....anyway,minichamps SL300 gullwing silver color is very rare and pricey now  shakehead.gif
*
thanks for the reply. i think there are new minichamps preorder releasing on feb 2012 for the model im looking for, however, its at 120ish USD excluding shipping >_<

the details are indeed nice, however if i were to repaint the interior to white, ill need to do a LOT of touching up on the fine details as well, which is too much hassle for me, as opposed to say, buying a burago at much cheaper, and just respray the outer metal cast.

more room to f***up, and a lot lesser damage assuming you mess up the repainting process ^^;

*
yes exactly, hence if possible, i dont want to touch the interior at all, which means the white/grey ish interior from the burago 1/18 would be the most ideal. and less painful if i mess the whole thing up sweat.gif

wkwebsite: Those photo-etch looks really nice. comes in all sizes as well. do share where you get it from! lol
*
yeah thinking of white since the burago one is in red instead

I guess no hope in getting a Mercs 300 SL Gullwing, me thinks...

yeah the search was quite painful, always end up with the recent sports cars/mercedes SLG instead lol.

well, it IS a 1954 year car, i dont blame them lol
im only getting it out of *specific* reasons XD

How much is the postage they charges you for shipping a diecast from there to malaysia? Have u brought any diecast from them before and alrdy received it safely? blink.gif
*
they haven't provided me a quote yet, im estimating it to not exceed 30usd though. so price is still acceptable if thats the case, which will total the cost to rm180 give/take, local bburago 1/18 already cost rm150-180 anyways :/

Wholesale diecast has quite a bad reputation but I honestly think that it's just luck. When I bought from them, they ship quick and pack securely and it only took FOUR days to reach from US to Aus.

Problem with them, for us atleast, is that shipping cost a bomb and it'll only make sense if they have some really rare diecast or if you plan to purchase 4 or 5 models from them to combine shipping.
*
ah i see >_<

thanks for the feedback anyways, hopefully my luck with them isn't bad ^^;

Buying Bburago from US? I thought local JJ store can found it? Some more i saw few toy shop at Times Square and Midvalley also got sale Bburago diecast ma.... doh.gif
*
i did try to search for the model i want, dont seem to have it. like i said, people would much rather stock modern sports car over a 1954 year mercedes sad.gif

maybe i havent been looking close enough i guess. then again if the price isnt differing too much, kinda lazy to go around ady oTL

I'm not sure this helps but this were some of the guys from this forum posted up a couple of months back for those online diecast shops. One in HK, one in Aussie and the other one I dunno where...
I've tried to pinpoint Mercs for you as well... so far only old SLRs..

hey man, much thanks for your help in helping me lookout on the model im after notworthy.gif

from aus:
http://www.bongosbasement.com.au/diecast-c.../prod_1704.html

while i could save from the shipping, the original price already far outweighs the price by wholesale diecast (around 27 USD vs 53 aud)

from germany (pjmodel cars):

No worries. Unfortunately, most the cars you are seeking are all out of stock. I might ask my bro in Aus to see whether there are other diecast shops there.
*
i'm only looking for just one car, and yeah i've done my fair share of digging and searching, and things seems to be rather frustrating thus far >_<

Kennt0312: Which girl figure u mention? blue hair? All this figure i recently brought it from a forumer located at Ampang. According ot him, those figure can't found any more in the market, the one he sell to me also from his own collection. That is 2008 product, they call it capsule toys at that time. Mean u put the token inside a machine the twist it, a small pvc ball will come out with the toys.
*
then confirm la its gachapon. those scales are varied from 1/10-1/16, technically speaking, they arent scaled, hence why the girls may look odd compared to the 1/18 cars, unless you shoot from a good camera angle smile.gif (which imo, you did a good job on that biggrin.gif)
