QUOTE(aquilaTE @ Nov 23 2011, 11:07 AM) chan27: The same place you got... no a, im going to get a retro car lol. not R8Quazacolt: Uncle Chia did mentioned about one R8 GT being reserved. Must be yours. blu3hamm3r: Well, apart from some minor paint chips and not so good workmanship compared to AA, it's a nice diecast to be view from a certain distance. I have yet to have a Kyosho R8 so maybe this will do for now. |

Thx a lot! myke: So long never see u here, busy shopping around? >.< Quazacolt : New hauls? Look so class and nice!!! ^^ Get frm Uncle chia? Added on November 24, 2011, 8:32 am Huh....realy stunning!!! But the price also make me stun! now all's left is to confirm on the masking procedures, sanding it down, and respray it to white Added on November 25, 2011, 1:09 am QUOTE(myke @ Nov 24 2011, 11:40 AM) this is how a rich man says new to here too, and i dont plan to collect anymore LOL!btw.. just a curious question to all 'laopan' here, how much time do you spend to view & enjoy the details of every model you bought? especially when a new model came to your display shelves, old models will be forgotten or neglected? or even keep it in store that you don't even remember to me.. i'm lack of space here i bought that mercedes for this: original video: Added on November 25, 2011, 1:49 am QUOTE(aquilaTE @ Nov 24 2011, 03:45 PM) I think I'm a bit more fussy with details since I'm a graphics guy. But then again, maybe I'm not ready to go to the lower scale for diecast as opposed to miniature figurines id rather collect 1/5 to 1/8's Added on November 25, 2011, 1:51 am QUOTE(jchue73 @ Nov 24 2011, 04:45 PM) edit - The model is a 24hour Nurburgring 2009 version. Not the latest Bathurst one. lol dont remind me on my boxed figures because 2 of my detolfs are jam packed.Speaking about models in their boxes, I still have some McLaren GTRs still in their boxes. I need to free them out. Very true ! Sometimes I think the hunting is more exciting than obtaining the model itself. LOL and yea, i sure had some fun (and frustration! lol) hunting the mercedes 300 SL This post has been edited by Quazacolt: Nov 25 2011, 11:42 AM |

I noticed your shots are pretty sharp. sometimes, youd rather not have a macro lens for controlled environment/"studio" (like having a lightbox) shoot as you'll get too many unwanted details This post has been edited by Quazacolt: Nov 25 2011, 03:23 PM |

QUOTE(blu3hamm3r @ Nov 25 2011, 03:40 PM) Yoyo....lot of "cool" poster u have!!! lol since when i got hentai dvd? how come i dunno wan and dont worry, if a peasant like me can do it, laoban like you sure no problem Added on November 25, 2011, 4:16 pm QUOTE(aquilaTE @ Nov 25 2011, 03:41 PM) Well, so far I have not been able to take sharp and perfect shots. I want to get it to the level the last time(I dunno who post)this guy shot the CCX very nice and crisp. The objective is to make it look like as if it's a real car in a real garage what blu3hamm3r said, and you dont even need DSLR, even PNS camera. use tripod will do, ISO 100-200 (depend on your psn/dslr, try not to go above 400 since you are in a controlled environment) it, make sure you got adequate lighting, and keep your fsop and shutter to what you need, not overboard it by f32 and 4 sec shutter =edit= for that picture, you will need to play with lighting already, not so much the camera. from my guess, there are at least 3-4 light sources, with top light source being heavy good WB control too since the tip are using cool light, or it could be lens filter too XD Added on November 25, 2011, 4:22 pm » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « thanks. i kinda rather keep everything in my room, easier to manage/safeguard etc. and my collections consist of really f***ing fragile and limited (usually sold out on pre-orders itself, and never restock, only 1 time running/release)items, so definitely not something i wanna keep out of sight for prolonged periods lol also, i believe the temp blu3hamm3r mentioned was the color temp, please dont heat up your sensor, you dont want a ruined dslr/pns lol This post has been edited by Quazacolt: Nov 25 2011, 04:22 PM |

QUOTE(aquilaTE @ Nov 25 2011, 04:24 PM) Tried PNS many years back and it failed me epically in comparison of a pns (again, controlled environment and/or lightboxes) and a dslr, dslr is MUCH EASIER than psnI always tot the rule of thumb was the opposite extreme will yield the best results. Anyway, I dun have proper lighting since I dun use a light box and I take straight out of the display cabinet. Anyway, will test later when got time again. why? much bigger sensor body is easier to take in light/image details in laymen terms, for a pns, you're almost 100% needing tripod + long exposure periods, while dslr you just point and shoot (irony huh? lol) with standard 1/60 or even as low as 1/30 (IS tech these days Added on November 25, 2011, 4:47 pm QUOTE(aquilaTE @ Nov 25 2011, 04:24 PM) Tried PNS many years back and it failed me epically i forever alone poorfag living with parents. so obviously the only place those thing should belong is my room I always tot the rule of thumb was the opposite extreme will yield the best results. Anyway, I dun have proper lighting since I dun use a light box and I take straight out of the display cabinet. Anyway, will test later when got time again. Added on November 25, 2011, 4:32 pm True... that's why I have a room dedicated for such things and not in the living room. My wifey dun approve to those things in the masterbedroom eventhough that is the safest place The DSLR sensor has a failsafe at 5mins shutdown on the D90 since that function is made for video mode so I doubt it gets damage easily. I dont think colour temp is something to do with the temperature of the sensor. It's the colour ranges is what you called colour temp. But I'm not sure whether if different heat ranges on the sensor gives a different result to the sharpness of the photo. umm thats what im saying: photogs dont really heat up their sensors, they adjust color temps, not sensor temps lol. QUOTE(aquilaTE @ Nov 25 2011, 04:48 PM) Yeah, the one thing that ticks me off about pns is the noise control. I went thru two pns. They served me well till my demand got bigger... muahahaha... 1/60 or faster shutter with IS then no hands shaking issue lo, unless you have serious grip stability issues lolI still needed the tripod to shoot even with dslr because of hand shake. Anyway, bridge cameras and pns have came a far way. Those two pns were like 4yrs and 6 yrs ago the pictures from my website are generally taken via dslr, and with the angle some of those shots are, obviously they are just straight point and shoot. can refer to some of the figure close ups to examine on the details lol |

QUOTE(blu3hamm3r @ Nov 25 2011, 04:50 PM) Quazacolt: The temp tat i mean is sensor temperature. Long explosure will heat up ur sensor and of cos it will effected ur image. U might try to take few shoot with 5 minute explosure and see. I bet the image come out will have redish or bluelish at the corner. i see, because AFAIK no one really does that unless they have specific needs (star gazing as an example) and even for those, 5minutes would only capture a load of... white trails lol.aquilaTE: Long explosure will heat up our sensor and heat can create havoc with photons and the sensor’s photosites. As the sensor works longer, such as with long exposures, constantly using live view, or during burst mode, it heats up and your shots will most likely include those tiny speckles you so want to avoid. |

QUOTE(aquilaTE @ Nov 25 2011, 04:52 PM) I think you're still young. You'll own your own place one day. haha getting old lo, ady lotsa people call me uncle (mainly due to my appearance, as i look old Well, I dun have to worry much with color temps since I shoot mainly in RAW. I'm just not there yet with photo sharpness... I want to trick people especially friends that they cannot tell the different between a real car and a diecast... so far, tricked only once with a crop shots and atm not looking forward to a new place, planning for a car well, you could try out those new tricks, hell, try some simple lowest fstop + 1/60 (just light up your shooting area well) and you'll be amaze at how far you can go. additionally, getting good flash (again, controlled environment means you can adjust flash bounce/diffusing well) is also a good investment in good photos. |

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « haha looks like thats what i am about to do, cept mine's a 300 SL, not sure how to handle the chrome parts/masking atm, consulting with a friend whenever hes free for the time being. Added on November 27, 2011, 11:40 pm QUOTE(geeamino @ Nov 26 2011, 01:47 AM) chan: I prefer this Stig compared to the standing one as this one looks cooler. hehe. I think details isnt too bad. Can touch up if its really bad. ah the master everyone's been talking about lkwanz: lol. malu man say me sifu. I'm also still learning. haha But then I have tried quite a few times and one of the few advice i can give you is that, you must practice, practice and practice(on a test model i.e any cheap 1/24 also can). You will definitely not get it right the first time as I'm assuming you have no prior experience in repainting diecast. Do some research and see which technique works for you. If you do have any questions, just ask. I'm sure any of us would be happy to help if we can. no quick short cut aside from having some test model? since this is sorta a 1 time go for me instead of long term. any chance you accept commission job? haha This post has been edited by Quazacolt: Nov 27 2011, 11:40 PM |
