Yes, the LP stands for Longitudinale Posteiore (Italian for Longitudinally Position engine layout) and the first 3 numbers represent the power output of the engine in PS (different models have different numbers: i.e Gallardo LP560-4 have 560 PS and Murcielago LP670-4 SV have 670 PS). Last number indicates the driven wheels (4 is permanent four-wheel-drive, 2 is rear-wheel drive. The Murcielago LP640 have the distinction of being the only modern Lamborghini to be without the last number). Then the SV name got 2 versions: the Murcielago LP670-4 SV's means SuperVeloce, while those SVs before it is SportVeloce (as in the case of Diablo SV and Miura SV).
