QUOTE(jtcs87 @ May 24 2011, 02:14 PM)
May i know what is the basic salary as a credit card holder by now?
*
it should be rm24k/year.

QUOTE(jack2 @ May 24 2011, 03:18 PM)
Dunno o. i also blurred about the new rule from BNM whether 2 cards are limited per bank or per person?
*
new rules only for annual salary of rm36k or less.

the new rules are:
- max 2 banks
- unlimited cards within that 2 banks
- CL are shared (this rules already implemented) within bank and max only 2x monthly salary.

example, u can have maybank and cimb.

for maybank, u can have:
1. mbb2 amex gold + mbb2 mastercard gold
2. mbb petronas visa
3. mbb amex gold credit card
4. mbb sony visa
5. mbb gold mastercard (got annual fee)
6. mbb gold visa (got annual fee)

and all 6 cards will share CL which max only 2x ur monthly salary.
so if ur monthly salary is rm2.5k, all 6 cards will share rm5k CL only.

for cimb, u can have:
1. cimb generic classic/gold mastercard
2. cimb petronas mastercard
3. cimb touch-n-go visa

all 3 cards will be sharing CL of 2x ur monthly salary.

note: example of the cards above are all can be applied with salary of rm36k/year. pls remember each card got rm50 GST!

for people who earned more than rm36k/year, this new rules wont applied.

QUOTE(McRyan @ May 25 2011, 09:54 AM)
Hey guys, Citibank or HSBC gives more benefits n discounts? Is HSBC Amanah the same as normal HSBC CC?
*
for me, there is another card better than both citibank and hsbc sweat.gif

but if u looking for only those 2, then it depends on where u will using it.'

example if u love watching movies on friday, citibank clear mastercard is the best, coz can buy 1 free 1 ticket, but, got annual fee.

while for hsbc, if u shop about rm1k per month at mid valley / gardens / isetan / parkon, then hsbc signature visa is the best, since it give 5x points, but, ur income must be rm100k/year.

for hsbc amanah, it is cashback card, which is 0.5% on everything.
while normal hsbc is points-based, 1 point for rm1.

and hsbc amanah cannot be use at non-islamic place such as for liquor, club, disco, gambling, etc.

i came across a roadshow that held in my nearby shopping center today. The sales person told me HSBC is offering 8% cash rebate discount in grocery, petrol and dining. Its valid until the end of this year. Anyone can confirm this?? The card he intro is HSBC Gold.

He also told me they will waive the annual fees and government fees for the 1st year with only 3 swipes. Is this true?  ohmy.gif

NEVER heard such thing.

QUOTE(UltraConductor_41 @ Jun 5 2011, 12:28 PM)

*
of coz no brochure, coz its not true sweat.gif

for gold card, hsbc website stated - free annual fee if swipe 12x/year .
unless u got black & white saying free annual fee for life w/o any condition (i did, 3 years ago).

I have a question, if my credit limit is rm4000k, I have already used up to rm3600, will I still able to swipe for rm600?

Is there any charges and how will it affect my scores?
*
NO. ur transaction will be rejected.

go pay rm300 at least or more first into your card account. it will free up the balance of the CL.

CL = 4000, recent = 3600, available = 400

pay = 300, available = 700

Click here to read my article Credit Cards are Cash Cow for Banks. In this article I mentioned about 0% Installment Plan, BT and other benefits of credit cards that entices us to spent beyond our means. And then we are imposed interest rate which is damn high. And that credit card is the best product in the world to make money.
*
OT: no i'm not working for the banks. and yes, i also sometimes spent beyond with 0% installment plan brows.gif

Not sure if I get you here but previously there was no need to print anything when ordering online. Just click click click fill the blanks and then just wait for the pizza to be delivered. Normally the riders would say 'dah bayar kan?' and I'd say 'yup'. laugh.gif

I've no idea if they still have the mobile cc terminal though... from my experience the pizza hut riders always forget to bring the terminal despite the receipt clearly stating "AMEX/ VISA / MASTERCARD required".
Plus their number is not exactly toll free.. so yeah that's why 'pay online'.
*
oh my pizzahut online order is pickup, not delivery.
coz my address is not in their database! vmad.gif

QUOTE(tifosi @ Oct 1 2011, 05:46 PM)
I agree with all of the above except point 5. It is unfair to penalize by increasing the GST just to deter people from applying from for CC. If someone is planning to go a debt spree, thinking that credit card is free cash tool, an extra RM 50 would not deter them at all. The group of people that will suffer the most are the real CC users for benefits like most of us here.
*
same, disagree with gst increased. the interest that should be increased! so people will pay full amount or just will be scared to use card ~

Added on October 4, 2011, 6:04 ambut i believed bank wont increased the interest, instead they lowered it.

like mbk2 doing now, 8.88% p.a.
or mbf, 0% for 3 years (max amount applied per card type).

besides, for the bank, there is where the money come from laugh.gif

Added on October 5, 2011, 7:20 amif cant settle rm12k in 12 months BT, go for longer period, such as 24 months or 36 months (but no 0% offered).

example is BSN 24 months 4.5%

To those thinking of doing more than 12 months BT, please understand you'll be paying more than the interest rate quoted. Always find out the actual effective interest rate, you may even end up paying more compared to your current tier interest rate (based on reducing balance) for your credit card.
*
BSN BT 24 months, the 4.5% is calculated 1 time only.

so rm12k will be charged rm540 then rm12k/24 = rm500.

meaning, 1st bill need to pay rm1040, followed by rm500 for next 23 months.

but then, if rm6xx also cannot pay, how to pay rm1040 and rm500? sweat.gif

The only bank that give FREE GST.

But, the card reward system... rm10 = 1 points sweat.gif

and the points can only redeem umrah/holiday package
