Is the CCRIS report is only available during BNM office hours ?
*
I guess so since we get the report inside the building which should be inaccessible to public after office hours.

Just wrote a short article on Maybank Petronas Visa 8X TP on weekends. Click here to read my article on Maybankard Petronas Visa and Maybank Islamic Petronas Ikhwan Visa. With 4 types of Petronas Visa, no wonder Maybank received Visa award for being the best bank. And I can't seem to find anywhere that states these cards earn 1X TP for other transactions. Too lazy to go see my previous Maybankard Petronas statement which I have terminated after I got the Maybankard 2 Cards last year.

I've followed your advice in your blog to go for UOB ONE card for Petrol usage (below RM600 per month).
Need to offload Petrol Rebates from OCBC Titanium  rolleyes.gif  sweat.gif

I am so glad that you have gained from my article(s) and follow my posts even tho you dislike the black background biggrin.gif Thank you Bro for your support.

Actually, I am also seriously considering to get the UOB One Card as my petrol consumption shot up this year as I have to drive my daughter to college and there's traffic jam everywhere nowadays which is ridiculous (burning money for nothing). Last month, my OCBC also hit the monthly cash back cap and did not earn anything from a few hundred ringgit. Did the first step already, applied for BHP Petrol Card (since I have SMART$ Cash yet to be used from my UOB Plat). And I did find out something very good about BHP Card is that my purchase of fags also earn points!

given RM20K limit when you earn in excess of RM240K as criteria???what a joke

You mean you actually accepted the card when they gave you only RM20K CL. If I was given same CL, I would have rejected the card on day one as I consider it an insult - like you said, a joke on you.

Yes it's rather funny; when the branch manager in Miri handed me the card, he said "what 20K that's ridiculous, how much would u like? I replied RM50K would be ok thanks. Sure he said I will contact WMC and organise it for you"

1 week later nothing so I contacted WMC myself and was told I was lucky to have the increase from RM10K originally on my MBB Visa Gold and had to wait another 6 months to ask for more......
*
You should have called the CS yourself and explain why you need the increase in CL.

When I first got my American Express Gold Credit Card, the CL was combined with my Maybank Petronas Visa Gold Credit Card RM20K CL (which is more than enough if purely for petrol, moreover, I don't seldom pump at Petronas ). And for your info, I wrote my income as >RM50K when I applied for my first MBB CC i.e. Petronas because the agent asked for my "help".

But I wanted a higher CL for my AMEX Gold Credit Card, so I called CS. Initially I was told that I can only apply for increase in CL after 1 year. I told the CS to go check my transactions of my AMEX Gold Charge Card and put up a request to management on the CL I wanted (much more than RM20K). After a week or so, the same CS called me back and informed me my request was approved and even asked me if I needed more.

The point is, most probably you did not use much with your MBB Gold CC and therefore maybe they felt RM20K was more than sufficient for your case or maybe your credit history is too freaking clean.

Having said this, you can always call CS and justify why you need the increase in CL now.

However, it is a free insurance and you can't expect much from it - it is the same case with all travel insurance offered as complimentary by all credit card insurers. There's a big difference between paid insurance and free insurance although you felt you are a Premium customer by virtue of holding the WMC card. (If I may be frank ... don't let the perceived VIP status get to your head)

In some instance, the criteria for claims (complimentary insurance) are just impossible or outrageous. For example, the paid insurance ensures you'll get something when you are alive. But the complimentary ones will only compensate you if you are "expired" - and many folks thinks they'll actually benefit? And Missing luggage claims qualifier are doubled from the paid insurance.

I have analysed this before and it's just better to buy a separate travel insurance for yourself. That's why I just smile when someone's criteria to subscribe to a cc is the travel insurance. I felt they never read the fine print or fully understand what are they asking for - just being kiasu like a typical Malaysian. Sigh ..
*
No else have complained about MBB WMC so far. He's the first here. As for MBB VI, I am very happy with it. 2X TP for local and 5X TP for overseas transactions. VIP treatment by holding a credit card..., haha, more like shiok sendiri.

You are right, better be kiasu and buy separate insurance which also cover overseas medical bills, P.A. and damage to luggage. Even tho most my my CC have travel insurance, I still buy separate policy when I go overseas. Few years back, my second son had food poisoning in the US while on holiday and was hospitalized and managed to claim for reimbursement after he return.

I just published my latest article on 0% Installment Plan. Basically I just copied part of my previous article written back on Valentine's Day last year (so one of the example is a love story, hahaha) on how a person can end up in debt with 0% Installment Plans.

So for you who don't have cash in hand and want to do installment plan, click here to read my article titled 0% Installment Plan with Credit Card IS A Trap.

here it goes, I've maybank 2 card which the statement due date is around the corner, i've paid some of the amount(partial amount, not full), due to sudden financial problems. if the balance were carried forward to next month(missed the due date), will it impact on my financial record, let's say when i'm applying for house loan in the future, will this late repayment hurt my chances?
p.s, currently i'm having car loan, which i never missed the due date.
*
Based on what you said above, should not tarnish your record. Important thing is pay the Minimum Amount prior to the Due Date.

should not? oh no, i need a firm answer. sorry if i offended you, but i need to really make sure that it would not affect my record. i thought my planning was good, but i didnt realised that they set the statement date earlier than my credit card date, the due date actually is just 1 day before my payroll date. great...

anyone can really give me a firm answer on whether it will affected my record?
*
Well, I am pleased that you actually read and understood the words in my reply. Reason being why I said should is because I got no idea if you paid before Statement Date or after. If you have made a payment after the statement date equal or more than the minimum amount, then the answer is that you credit history will still be good.

Bro, another thing, BNM requires all credit card issuers to give grace period of 3 days after Due Date. So this is what you should do, go make Cash Deposit Payment once you get your gaji.

Banks to raise credit card balance rates
Ambank card holders who have been paying their outstanding credit card bills on time for 12 consecutive months will be charged an interest rate of 15% per annum, up from 13.5%. Prompt payments for at least 10 months will come under a 17% interest charge (previously 16%) while those who do not fall into either category will be slapped with the highest interest rate of 18% (previously 17.5%).For late payments, card holders will be charged a minimum of RM10 or 1% of the outstanding balance, whichever is higher, and up to a maximum of RM100.

Citibank will raise its tiered pricing rates for prompt payments over 12 months from 13.5% to 15%, 16% to 17% (for 10 prompt monthly payments), retaining the maximum interest at 17.5%.

Hong Leong Bank's new interest rates are 15%, 17% and 18% in the respective categories.

The new tiered interest rates and Late Payment Charges are scheduled to come into effect 1st March 2012.

Citibank offering 8.88% for those who pays 50% or more promptly for 12 consecutive months. And AmBank True Credit Card interest is at 12% for those who also pays promptly 12 consecutive months.

Click here to my wordpress blog for quick links to AmBank, Citibank and Hong Leong Bank new interest rates for Outstanding Balance.

Sry newbie here. I dont quite get it.

I thought all the while prompt payment is interest free?

Lets say I pay my CC bills immediately after i make purchase everytime, I still get slapped with the interest?

*
If you settle in Full (the amount stated in your Monthly Statement) prior to the Due Date, then there will not be any Outstanding Balance which means you won't be imposed any interest charges.

If you make payment in Full after the Due Date, you'll be charge Late Payment Penalty and you have failed to make payment promptly. And on top of that, you'll be charge interest from the day of transaction, i.e. you no longer enjoy the interest free period.

Bro, you don't have to make payment immediately after your purchase everytime, just make sure you make payment in Full before the Due Date. Example: if your Statement Date is on the 8th of every month, your Due Date will be most likely on the 28th of the month. Just make sure you pay in full the amount stated in your Statement dated on the 8th before the 28th and you won't be charged a sen of interest.

CIMB have been slow to update their credit card promos for this year. I just published my latest article on it.

Click here to read my article on CIMB Direct Access Credit Card Promotion 2012.

I am now waiting for them to come out with a Balance Transfer Plan but I doubt we will get 0% interest.

Seriously, it seems CIMB are concentrating more on their Premier Cards with their current promos.

Hi there, I just reading first post and i found out that fuel rebate is intresting, this lead me to citibank site, and i found out that, why there is so many type of CC? in my mind is just silver gold and platinum, and now i see, citibank shell card, airasia card, giant card.. if I always deal with these 3 (airasia, giant and shell), meaning that i should get all in order to get the discount?
*
YES subjected that the discount you can save is more than RM50 to at least offset the GST.

For petrol, please go to Petrol Thread and learn which card saves you more than the Citi Shell - read gerrardling's comments at 1st post.
