QUOTE(Gen-X @ Aug 5 2011, 05:15 PM) Firstly, it is your own fault for signing the application form without knowing the terms and conditions. He can opt to cancel the card without having to pay annual fee.Secondly, you have accepted the MBB WMC by using it for petrol. You could have cancel it when the card was issued, now it is too late. Thirdly, why the heck use the MBB WMC for petrol when you get nothing and not the MBB Dua? Or did your MBB 2 application got rejected? Fourthly, have you paid the annual fees? Kind of odd that you have the card since April and now only you're concerned with the annual fees. Well, since you got the MBB WMC now, might as well go enjoy MA Golden Lounge and make your RM1500 annual fees worth it. AFAIK, annual fee is for next year's usage. I said this because I also faced this situation. When I received my CitiGiant statement with an annual fee, I quickly called CT hope can get waiver, but was declined. The CS told "if cancel the card, then no need to pay AF lor". I was kinda enlightened. This post has been edited by chemistry: Aug 5 2011, 08:20 PM |

The CS is correct that "once approved, GST applies". |

QUOTE(hye @ Aug 9 2011, 07:08 PM) I second that. I wonder what is everyone thinking when they apply the credit card just for the fun of it then wanting to cancel the card when it is approved ?? I think I know why.Folks ... GST is payable the moment the card is approved had you apply for it. No need to wait to activate the card. This is outlined in BNM regulations for the GST implementation just in case anyone thinking to complain to BNM asking them to force the bank to pay the GST for you to the govt. Don't want the card or not sure then don't apply. Some people signed on the dotted line just because of the free gifts offered by the card agent. You know, there are some people really don't know about this GST thingy until it appears in the statement. |

QUOTE(hye @ Aug 15 2011, 04:11 PM) Aiya ... feel shy lah. Don't feel shy la, you deserve our respect Best card for frequent fliers 1. MBB World Master Card (Used overseas, 1 to 1 ratio on spendings to points) 2. CIMB Enrich World Mastercard (by invitation only and this is different from CIMB WMC hence best if you can get invited) 3. MBB2 AMEX card (Best for local expenditures) 4. Citibank PremierMiles (General multipurpose use but not very rewarding compared to the first 3 above) MBB WMC got one drawback ie. hefty annual fee, somemore non waiveable |

QUOTE(ben83 @ Aug 15 2011, 04:36 PM) However the annual fee is pretty hefty and only reimbursable (yes you pay upfront annual fee) if you spend above RM 100k (without Golden lounge program) & 120k (with Golden lounge program) respectively This is definitely a card for big bosses |

QUOTE(hye @ Aug 15 2011, 05:39 PM) You nailed it with the detailed info. Golden Lounge facility can be neglected, given that participated lounges are so limited. To be precise, the promo for the extra 20% Enrich Miles ends 31 August 2011. Note : the Golden lounge program is only available where MAS operates their Golden Lounges. Shared and partner lounges are not included if I'm not mistaken. If MBB change it to PRIORITY PASS, that'll make MBB WMC the best Enrich card in Malaysia, beating SCB VI. What say you? |

QUOTE(hye @ Aug 15 2011, 06:26 PM) Hahaha .... depends. Should they replace it with similar Priority Pass privilege like SCB VI, then SCB VI is beaten already. (Note: SCB VI Priority Pass give you unlimited visits unlike other bank offerings which is x no. visits per year) MBB has superior forex conversion and overall points conversion to Enrich system which SCB cannot beat. Thanks for your valuable input. That is certainly enlightening.Priority Pass mainly give you access to 3rd party lounges all over the world. It is a different class from the airline lounges. e.g. Compare service levels between PPL and MAS Golden lounge and you will see what I mean. If MBB WMC offer both Priority Pass and MAS Golden Lounge then they are the best premium card in Malaysia. ..... I hope MBB VP is reading this to offer me a part time job. |

QUOTE(hye @ Aug 21 2011, 09:56 PM) I did the same thing when I called them up a couple of weeks back. They were stumped by how much their product lag behind their competitor. MBB and OCBC should have paid LYN as a reward for all the support And yes, they proudly mentioned that points are 2x with their cards when used overseas and I replied MBB cards are 5x. They were speechless. Can't blame them if they withdraw sponsorship for this thread. At least it goes to show that we are vendor neutral bunch of guys. |

QUOTE(WhiteWing @ Aug 24 2011, 09:57 PM) Just now I received my statement from PBB. I noticed got 1 transaction which is FAILED on that day and on the same day the CS also called me up is it I use it for online transaction and he told me we cannot proceed. Fine,I accept it then I use other credit card to buy my item from website. End up today the statement stated the transaction went thru which I don't even know it. Called up the CS and she asked me to fill up the dispute form and I have to need to wait up to 6 weeks to 8 weeks. I very unhappy with the answer which is the transaction didn't go thru and charged me ! And this happens to the most reputable bank in Malaysia How the bank gonna handle it ? |

Dear forummers,
Please be informed that Maybank does not implement "3 days grace period" for payment made to credit card account. I was just advised by Maybank Platinum Services. He said "MBB has never implemented and never aware of that grace period". And because of my negligence, my 3-day late payment (23/8, due 20/8) to MBB credit card had incurred finance charge. |

QUOTE(charymsylyn @ Sep 3 2011, 01:28 AM) I believe there is a misunderstanding on your part regarding what the grace period means with MBB CS miscommunicating to you (or you understood him/her wrongly). If you refer to the ABM press release linked below, banks will not charge you late payment fees for valid payments received up to 3 days from statement date. Late payment fees here refer to the 1% late payment charge (min RM5/max RM50). It does not refer to the finance charges, of which banks can apply or ignore. Oh ! I see.In my experience, MBB and CIMB charges, OCBC does not. For the benefit of other members, valid payments above is defined as cleared payments. That means if you deposit a cheque 2-3 days after the deadline, you can expect to get charged late fees as it will only clear after the grace period. http://www.abm.org.my/upload/Further%20rel...dit%20cards.pdf So I managed to escape from late payment fee. But finance charge was still applicable. Thanks for your kind explanation. |
