Auto GB got no replaceable clutch kit. But do check for any sort of leaks, be it engine oil or ATF.
For ur GB, is it after warming up, then whole day no issue?
If yes, I'd suspect it's either a contact issue and/or the oil pump (inside the GB) is starting to fail. Thus after u start the engine, it'd take a while for the ATF to circulate within the GB.
I have a Proton Saga 1.5I with similar issue. And the prob is around for like 2-3 yrs d. When it 1st started, it took like 1 min b4 the gears would engage. Now it'd need approx 3-5 mins each morning. I checked with a mech who's familiar with Jap car auto gb, he said can try changing the oil pump, but he can't guarantee everything would be perfect after that. So i decided to thrash the GB until it dies completely b4 changing.
Getting a used GB would cost RM2-3k while overhaul would cost RM3-4k for a Cefiro.
Thank bro scorgio for yrs reply.
At the moment, they are no leaking of engine oil or ATF oil after 3 rd time repaired.
The thing is that a year ago , my engine have serious oil leaking problem, send 3 times to workshop to rectify the problem, 2nd time change other oil seal part, until 3 rd time, change the fly wheel oil seal, it totally block the leaking problem, so it darg for a few mth to monitor and repair it. after the 3rd repair, the workshop told me my gb in bad condition, he suggest need to change with a recond unit.
The problem happen during morning or nite, which if stop a few hrs , the engine cool down, then this problem repeat, when go out for lunch, let say 15 min, it can work as normal.
I beem send the car to flush the ATF fluid inside the GB and change with whole new ATF after the flush, but the end result stil the same
It that difficult to change the oil pump for this car, the oil pump is mount nearby the engine?, i may try to source a recond oil pump fr chop shop to try my luck. i been ask the GB in some chop shop, they told me the whole engine c/w gb cost 1.8k only, so i guess the GB alone would be much cheaper, rite. Any advise on above matter?
