RM2000?

for CI futures, its RM1300 only.I'm still a part timer,i'm still incapable of earning that much laugh.gif ,my capital is around a  few thousand.Since i'm trading small time only,i dont need that much. The earning(IF) is quite satisfying to me,my target isnt a thousands or more, but profit,as long as i profit,i'm happy biggrin.gif

I do day trades, since i dont need to go to school anymore,i could monitor it whole day,if i think it is worth holding more than a day, then i'll do so,if not, then i will close the position on the end of the day.
*
RM2000 was when I ask the broker last year.
One more question though, the commission is RM50 for buy and RM50 to sell am I right?
So RM 100 for a complete transaction. sweat.gif
I don't trade the index just browsing through the Star and having a look at the KLCI chart for the last few month.
Also one point movement in the index mean +/- RM50 right?

Currently,its RM1300.
The price changes now and then, but it will be around there, wont go too far.Unless there is holiday or stuff like that. The price was RM3000 the week before the 1 week CNY holidays.

Nope,RM50 per trade(includes buy and sell)

kloffe is RM50 per point, cpo is RM25 per point.

One more thing, kloffe is kloffe(CI futures),KLCI is KLCI.Both of them are not 100% same, although their price moves parallel to each other.A lot of people look at the KLCI chart and thought that it is the future's chart, but it isnt. The futures has its own chart.
*
Ah thank you for updating me thumbup.gif . Do you know where I can find the futures chart?

On the topic of investment, does anyone know how to Telegraphic Transfer >RM10k to overseas? PB Bank rejected my application to do so? rclxub.gif
It seems the limit per transaction for a TT overseas is RM10k. Not sure if they limit the number of transactions? Anyone have any idea or experience? blush.gif

well...the futures went up by 13 points yesterday, and klci is showing signs of bull trend,BUT since it only started yesterday,we cant really tell.Maybe the bull will only last a few days? who knows?

time will tell..but dont get waaay too excited yet
mobif? 0042?

mobif is another goreng counter, and it still shows no sign of retracing. If you want to buy it now,it is a bit risky.But..hey..maybe it will be like iris, when i kept saying it will do a retracement around 50 cents, then it shot all the way up to 70 cents without taking a break.

And here I though the market was bearish , wanted to short but luckily decided to wait and see. biggrin.gif Hoping the S&P500 won't reach 1325 by this 21 sweat.gif .

Once again the Dow took a dip erasing its previous days' gains. Massive selling are seen worldwide.

Bourses around Japan, Singapore, Indonesia and India are seen crumbling. As for HK and Korea.... Public Holiday...

Scary... June's futures massive discount.
*
I believe the down trend started one day after the Fed meeting to raise interest rate. S&P drop 30point++ in 2 day it was 1326 then now a 1270. I did short some puts but sold early....... doh.gif . You following the overseas market Silveru?

QUOTE(PhibeRoptiC @ May 31 2006, 06:18 PM)
i want to ask something.... is it relevent to use S&P 500 index here at KLSE? is there any connection between S&P 500 and KLCI? one more thing about this phrase what is it mean? can someone elaborate it for me
*
I believe the US market will affect KLSE somewhat but about a connection it is beyond me.
The phrase means that fund manager will try their best to outperform the index. E.g if the KLCI did a +3% for 2006, the fund must make a profit of more than 3% in order to beat the index(The 3% usually don't include the charges for the fund).

QUOTE(cherroy @ Jun 1 2006, 09:41 PM)
US (Dow Jones and S&P 500) did influence the world market since it is the biggest and powerhouse of the world economy. However, since 97 due to the currency control there is only a few foreign funds in Malaysia so the impact is not so great compared to the early 90's.
Local big guns always don't like to see the market down, they are more like keep on support until they can since if the market goes down, they are the biggest losers since they hold the most shares in KLSE.

Whtrader,
you stay overnight to trade? since US market opens only after 9.30pm and until 4am local time.
*
I try to but I have a fulltime job, so I usually stay till <12 but will stay longer if I am having an open position or there are any market moving meeting etc laugh.gif . I am more of a swing trader.

QUOTE(Darkmage12 @ Jun 2 2006, 11:54 AM)
but forex need alot of money to do trading rite? very volatile reward sure high 1 ma..... but losses also high laugh.gif
*
No you don't , the minimum some sites is offering - USD 100 with a leverage of 300. You are right on the second part, very volatile on USD/EUR pair which I do follow time to time.Losses are part of trading but forex do include commissions to. Sometimes the commi is more than trading stocks or options.

Even though it is simulator, I believe one can learn many things about trading. rclxms.gif
One reminder is to use the exact amount of cash you will put up if you are doing it for real. For example if you have RM 10000 then use it as your starting capital in the portfolio.

Hey..guys,..

do u all have any idea how can we buy stock and option in oversea exchange such as those on the NYSE and Nasdaq?? is there a stockbroker firm in msia that allow us to do so? thanks  biggrin.gif
*
I don't think there is for retail trader. You have to send your money out to their bank account to trade. This means your money will reside in the oversea brokers bank account. So caution is adviced.

its called okachi,i'm not sure about their commision thou.
I manage to skimmed through their margin list for the american futures, the cheapest is rm3000 for soybean if i'm not wrong. The popular commodities like gold and crude oil cost around rm10-30k.The DJIA and nasdaq index futures is about that  price too.

very expensive lol.

Thanks for the name thumbup.gif . Went to their website last night, it seem they do have a trading platform.Gotta dig more soon.

well,think about it again.
if you cant even save the basic, dont even think about investment. this is why people committ suicide when their investment failed.

they invest all their hard earned money and when it goes bust, they owe the loan shark, they owe the bank, the wife run away with kids, he got no money, house tarik by the bank, no car, jobless, lost faith in life, better go die.
In my opinion a person should start thinking , evaluating and educating one self about the various investment or trading vehicle available. It better to start early even when you don't have the capital to start. They can try paper trading, and if they are profitable they can sell their services, as a Fund manager perhaps. Not getting involve or thinking, just because you have no money is not a valid reason for learning more about investments and trading. Finally if you can't make a cent in paper trading never trade live, you won't survive.

what you have said it's true, we can start learning ourself about investment before we had the money, now there's some internet investment education provide investment simulation, or better still doing paper investment without putting money in.

but as human being intend to be tempted very easy, especially when it comes to money. if they success in simulation investment, they will think they are smart enough to invest in the real world. without hesitation, they risk their life boat money(which i mention as bucket money 1) to invest.
as we know,no such thing as risk free investment.people should educate themself how to survive the basic 1st,you dont run when you dont even know how to walk.
