It's weapon specific for each faction until you get high enough level you can use any weapons...

M4 Carbine is not an assault series of the M4/M16 list.
It's in the same series for the Engineer which is SMG/Carbine

An94 are in limited service due to cost. Russian army regular AS is the AK74

AKM = AK47 Modernized which means some parts added/removed to make it more easier to handle/manufacture/maintenance.

the M77 is the heavy barrel of the AK.
