i can't imagine how Singapore can get away from it unless highly air and sea superioriy is achieve over melaka straits or 360 degrees since Singapore is a small island
with little cover spot as alot of high rise buidling

Rush
Availability: On all 9 maps
Players: 24/32 (Console/PC)
Focus: Objective Based All-out Warfare
Goal: Attack/defend M-COM stations
Winning the game: Destroy all M-COM stations/Deplete the attacker’s tickets (Attackers/Defenders)

First introduced in Battlefield: Bad Company, Rush has now made its way to the heart of the Battlefield series in Battlefield 3. An objective based mode, the attackers have to arm and detonate pairs of M-COM stations in each area of the map to unlock the next area and the next pair of M-COM stations. While defenders have an unlimited amount of spawn tickets, attackers only get new tickets every time they destroy a pair of M-COMs. If all M-COM stations on the entire map are destroyed, the attackers are declared the winning team. If the defenders manage to deplete the attacker’s tickets to zero (by killing them), the defenders are declared the winners.

As an all-out warfare mode, Rush features a large variety of vehicle setups tuned specifically to that map’s landscape and features. Players can find all types of vehicles on Rush maps, including transport vehicles, armored vehicles, helicopters, and of course, jets. Rush offers a compelling objective based all-out warfare game mode for Battlefield veterans.


If you are familiar with this game mode from Battlefield: Bad Company 2, you might want to know we are refining it for Battlefield 3 in a number of ways, based on player feedback. Some of the gameplay tweaks we are bringing to Rush are:
* You cannot use explosives or shoot at the M-COM to take it out. Only arm and disarm.
* If the attacking team arms the M-COM but runs out of tickets, the match will continue until the M-COM detonates or defenders disarm it
* If the defenders start disarming an M-COM just before it’s about to blow, the explosion is prevented until the disarm is accomplished. If the defender gets killed during the disarm process, the M-COM will instantly blow

Battlefield 3 Commander was a hot topic at DICE
O Really...

Many (us included) are disappointed by the lack of a Commander feature in Battlefield 3. The Commander was a groundbreaking addition to Battlefield 2, and set the game apart from many other shooters, adding another layer to the gameplay. DICE has previously explained why the Commander feature was removed in Battlefield 3: only one player could play as Commander, and they preferred to “lower the threshold” and allow all players to use assets like the UAV. Ironically, in Bad Company 2, only one player could use the UAV, compared to two Commanders in BF2.

Speaking at the Eurogamer Expo, DICE’s Karl Magnus-Troedsson said that the Commander was a “hot topic” at the studio, with some developers in favor of it and other against. He said:



Troedsson made another, more interesting argument against the Commander feature, saying:

 

We disagree with DICE’s reasoning for removing the Commander — Commanders helped the team greatly by providing supplies, by using the UAV, by calling in the artillery, by spotting players. The Commander was never supposed to fight, and in fact, most BF2 players hated a “fighting” Commander. The Commander was basically playing an RTS — a game within a game — and being a Commander was never boring, you had to work hard for your team. Someone was always willing to play the role, and the team with a Commander was far better off then a team without one.

Honestly, we’re still taken aback by DICE occlusion of the Commander feature, and their reasoning behind it.

PlayStation 3 getting Battlefield 3 expansions one week earlier

Timed exclusives are nothing new, and it appears that Battlefield 3 will join the list of games that offer exclusive content on a selected platform for a set period of time. Much like Microsoft and Activision, which have a deal on Call of Duty DLC arriving earlier on Xbox 360, Sony and EA have teamed up to bring Battlefield 3 DLC earlier to the PlayStation 3.

According to the official PlayStation Blog, where DICE’s Tommy Rydling announced that Battlefield 3 DLC will arrive 1 week earlier on the PS3, starting with Back to Karkand later this year.

We can’t say that we’re surprised by this, especially considering Microsoft’s deal on exclusive Call of Duty DLC, which has been very lucrative for them. Also, a week is much shorter than the 1 month time frame that Call of Duty DLC gets on the Xbox 360.
