Actually I dun think it's worth buying the 2.0.. Only ~5 HP difference compared with 1.8.. Do some light mods to 1.8 can get more than that d.. Save 20k samore..

maybe got some dead insect inside the aircond radiator.... not radiator.. is after the air cond  air filter.. dono call what..

mine one also got weird smell, but it occur when crusing high speed abt 170-180 for long distance.

Recently donno y my persona was having a bad smell when i turn on the aircond.

I done some experiment as below :
1) Turn On AirCond Fan
2) Turn off AirCond TEMPERATURE
3) Using Recycler Air
and the smell come out very strong.

If i turn on the Aircond  TEMPERATURE , then slowly the smell will less a lot but the smell is still there.

I'm sure previously many owner facing this, but what is the solution to fix this ?

Some suggest to wash the aircond filter. I did open the aircond filter, but looks like quite clean.

Your air con got a raccoon or beaver in there.  My car also got that musky smell. Try cleaning first then see lah.

U said u turned off the temperature. And left the recycler on before the smell comes out.

No.1: check the carpet for any dirt/cat/dog crap, especially the area near the driver's pedals and passenger side below the glovebox compartment, as the air recycling intake is there.

No.2: check ur air cond filter & the filter container. U might've cleaned the filter but the holder/container may have some dirt/dead insect/etc stuck there.

No.3: check the air cond hose (at engine bay) for any leakages.

What does it actually smells like? Does it happen only during cold starts?

Same with mine also. Think have to do no. 1 and 2 first b4 doing any further for the infamous 'thong' smell.

So fragile meh the filter? Don't waste perfume on it. 

Vegetarian TT at temple?  Just be careful and aware of the surroundings.

It might cause by the car carpet get wet, check all the carpet make sure it is dry, reason the carpet getting wet :
1. air cond water drain hose stuck so the condance water not flow out and traped in the cooling coil tray or may be drop on the carpet.
2. after raining our water atick at our shoe make the carpet wet.
3. the wrost is there are bad sealing at our fron wind screen when raining the water leaking inbehind our dashboard. 

but my car also got the smell after turn off the compressor i put the charcoal deodorizer in the car. + ambipure, but this is the common problem for Myvi also.

Yea drive safe, if itchy want bang something make sure you find siham not another car...

The famous thong smell, worst during hot weather if you park under the sun.

My solution is go daiso, buy the deodorizer sticker cut to small strip and stick on the filter. But now the smell is back but not as unpleasant as it first started. Those nano mist solve the problem temporary.

So be prepared to be seduced by some wet thong every time you hope in your car.

hmm...mine got. mostly is after hot day.
when i turn on the aircond the kong sound when compressor kicks in very loud and the smell come out @@
when turn off the aircond after running the aircond for a while, try staying in the car to hear wat sound it will produce.
mine had this problem that there is a loud whing sound that sounds like car revving @@.
i asked about it. SC says it might be the valve. so 2moro going to claim it. last chance. if 2moro after changing the valve also cannot solve the problem then i need to pay myself edi.
mine is after revving at more than 3.5k rpm. the smell comes out. so above 160 the smell sure got.

not to that extent lah. The goal here is just so that it doesn't turn out to be a hotdog fest again mah.. Bring some hot chicks can cuci mata also
Bout 7-12k depending on brand u choose. But ok mah, 170 reliable whp..

Then there might be water from condensation (air cond too cold till water forms) trapped in the pipe or soaked the sponge.. Or maybe it's just ur feet
