In QBM only absolute. THere's one more cheaper gym which is gym nation. I worked out there last time. Both of them not bad.

cheast gym so far in Gelugor area is the one opposite USM main gate, next to the army camp. RM35 a mth if not mistaken

Sorry to say this, but your price is so expensive. Even those who joined now, still get 2-3 months free extended membership, depends on your negotiation power. Those who joined previously get up to 6 months FOC.

So, i think you seriously need to lower your price, else people would rather join in as new member since the price is not much difference.

I like absolute fitness also... price is ok for me, but worst is their after sales service is bad.

no respond when you send in email for feed back, and their staff will give a lot of reason if you feed back face to face with them.

coffee machine spoil at the same time in 3 of the branches, and autocity branh, water dispensor also spoil.

I have joined Absolute Fitness @ Penang Heritage Club for 3 months. Would like to share my experience:

(1) The steam room is always under maintenance. From day 1 until today, it is under maintenance everyday.

(2) About 50% of the time I go there, no towel is available. I go there after work, I guess that’s the peak hours, but then isn’t it common sense to prepare more towels for peak hours? Anyway, they have a “1 towel per member” policy, so how hard can it be to estimate how many towels will be needed in advance?

You would think that they will get fed up with members always asking for towels, and do something about it. But no, they seems to be fine with it.

And I haven’t even start talking about those towels that seems torn, like 1 towel cut in half, to make it into 2 towels. What a great idea.

(3) For the past few days the swimming pool is closed for maintenance. Oh-oh, I have a bad feeling about where this is heading…

Personally I don’t use the steam room or the swimming pool, but I am still unhappy about this kind of service. Imagine someday, one by one, the treadmills go under maintenance…

One more thing, I used to wonder why some people like to vandalize things like water taps, shower heads etc. But I think I’m beginning to understand. When they get crappy service and nothing much can be done about it, that’s an easy way to get pay back. You give me crappy service, I vandalize your stuff? I don’t do this, and I don’t agree to this, but I’m beginning to see why.

Firstly,can I pay monthly? Or do i have to pay the full 1 year package.

And is there an age limit? i'm a teenager and schools about to be done for the year in a few weeks,think I might wanna lose some of my fat than just stay home.

Also do they issue personal trainers while you train there?

they do have PTs there but at a totally different rate..
some are really good...some are shit..(AF overall i mean)..
if u sign in QB u can go anywhere else...sunway's pretty nice...ncie ppl..and good trainers...QB has horrible service..

For those bros near Bayan Baru area, I heard Orient Fitness @ Krystal Point is good. AF is known for their incompetent admin/management.

Personally I'm a member at Fitness Studio in Gurney Tower. After office hours might be packed cos CF and FF which have closed down, many of the members transferred over here.

If you're looking for trainers, here is the best place in Penang. Very qualified, experienced and dedicated trainers.

how much per month at orient fitness? or need to buy the 1 year package?

Wow, AF management and customer service so bad? Guess it's due to less competition in Pg, so they can do what they want. >.<

I rather go orient fitness, much more better than AF.

May I know what's the package like for Orient Fitness? I enquired at AF before, they quoted me 1800 for 16 months...I like AF's location, but since hearing about all those bad feedback on customer service, it's putting me off.

Anybody wants to transfer their AF membership? It's near my place so I am thinking of joining.

Fyi OF freakin full after workin hours. Correct me if im wrong

I was a member there for 1 year and never wanted to renew anymore.

1) As previous forumer mentioned, towels do run out during peak hours and they wont even find the effort of getting you one.
2) Soap dispenser occasionally runs out of soap gel and no refill.
3) Lack of lockers. During peak hours, you may need to wait for some time before you can find one. Longest I waited is about 20 mins.

That was my not so good experience that I would like to share

(1): Which gym in Penang offers the best Personal Trainer? Read from one of the response that Fitness Studio offers the best personal trainer. Where else?
(2): DO i need to engage a dietitian? The best place that comes to mind is Adventist Hospital - Wellness Center.

hi guys, does AF QB has a squat rack? Because the one @ heritage does not. its pretty annoying i only get to use smith machine to squat.
