Guys,
I am having this in mind but not sure whether it will work. Anyone who has already tried this is welcome to give feedback. Basically what I am trying to do is to get my parents an iPad so that they can Facetime with my children as we are living in different states. My parents doesn't have a fixed line internet connection at home, thus the easiest internet connection for them would be Maxis 3G. But as we all know Facetime doesn't work with 3G without jailbreak and I do not intend to jailbreak. Thus what I want to do is to subscribe to Maxis 3G broadband with WIFI HSPA modem (E5832). In this case the iPad will be connecting to the 3G boradband as a wifi. Do you guys think the Facetime will work using this combination? Please help to advice.
this should work. I have read it somewhere before that is works for iphone 4, so I think it should apply for ipad 2 as well.I am having this in mind but not sure whether it will work. alternatively, you can try using skype for ipad 2 (with built in 3g)
but don't know how much data both methods would consume.
