haha i baru join GO not long ago. Still reading the stuffs there and learning. Thought of sharing it here. Since my hiking kaki also from LYN. so might as well la.
cooking, i prefer not to spend much time on it. I bring maggie mee, and canned foods (those with lever to pull out the cover lolz) and rice or premade chapati from care4.
Meat, cannot tahan up there after hours of hike. vege also, have to cut and cook. Use mess tin and cook rice with aluminium foil or bananaleaf cover, and chuck the cans into the fire and cook under pressure before openning it. viola...makan!
*
one day hepi might open mamak in jungle liao biggrin.gif

QUOTE(happy4ever @ Aug 15 2011, 12:30 PM)
i lost 3 toenails lolz. all from the wet shoe and hiking 2hrs downhill. My toenails became white, and after a week plus, it fell of itself. damn.... imma doing it wrong?

now with kampung adidas, no more wet foot lo.
*
your toenails not growing back anymore? shocking.gif

QUOTE(happy4ever @ Aug 15 2011, 12:33 PM)
haha i prefer smaller groups, coz nice camping ground not easy to find. most are rocky and can store pools of water.
then each of us bring our own food sufficient for ourselves, then we share when eating. I find canned beans, curry chicken and beef rendang the best for me. Banana would be nice, but sure make me wanna berak in the woods...which i dont quite like...takut ppl come and see my nice white smooth buntut...  brows.gif
*
hor....i see what u did there

QUOTE(SkywalkerxX @ Aug 15 2011, 04:05 PM)
for true hikers usually they will leave nothing behind. but for so-so hiker they do.

especially for TIN SARDIN, that is why we ban this can.

ya, feels wanna kick those litterbug's ass mad.gif

the last time i went, some university dudes won't allow us to go in to the mini fall.. sad.gif they say we've offended the law to enter beyond the line of forest reserve..
they should freaking put no entry there then..
*
there is actually one signboard of no entry (a RLDR version) at the pers wawasan bandar puteri entrance, maybe no sign board for other entrance laugh.gif

Congrats, another achievement unlocked biggrin.gif

I hope those who hike/climb not doing this activity alone.
At least if something bad really happens, there's someone to cry for help.

Look at this incident below, you've been reminded.

as for nuang, i arrived entrance around 5:40am, but not dare to start hiking as the entrance state must report to police station nearby & register with the forest office before & after hiking, so i not sure. the day also very dark, cant see the path, & still recovering from the shock given by the few mad dog chased my bike earlier laugh.gif

so finally day break, & i started 7 am, met 2 guys who came here 2 to 5 times each.
we have just enough breaks in the middle, and we arrived peak around 12:40pm,
then soon after that, got another group of uncle & auntie (around 45 to 50 YO shocking.gif ) catch up with us on the peak, they told me they are first timer , & they started 8am
i was like wtf teeeepu la blink.gif they carried 1 500ml mineral water bottle only, maybe that helps them move fast, while i maybe having a backpack around 5 to 8 kg

we rest, enjoy till 1pm & start return trip.
after 45 minutes, we returned to pancak pengasih, saw 2 younger guys, maybe 23 YO, they did not bring watches asking me for time & how long to the peak
hey ask me if i got handphone, so that can call their fren, but no use, there are no signal laugh.gif
and they ask me to pass their 6 frens behind that they are waiting there blink.gif
then i continue going down, after 15 minutes, met the rest of youngster, passed them the message
those 6 poor guys ask me to go to pancak pengasih again to call back the 2 guys, as these 6 guys cant move anymore
i was like shocking.gif and thinking, if give me RM1k i also wont consider la, i damn tire redi
furthermore, i did adivised the 2 guy before, but they dun want return to their fren, so i cant help much also if i return
so i ask them settle themself, & advice them to return quickly before 2pm, same advice i gave to the earlier 2 guys
good luck to them, mang, they are all first timer. dunno now they return home safely already or not laugh.gif

then we make it back to the entrance around 5:35pm icon_rolleyes.gif
but those uncle & aunties already arrived earlier & enjoying ice-cream redi biggrin.gif

the lesson is, dun go together with ego person / those non-team player whistling.gif

Thanks TS, just a newbie smile.gif

That place ah...google map, see the one patch of empty place opposite IOI mall, home to one species of tiger and 2 species of leopard, go in risking the mentioned as well as wild boar if you are lucky, if you are unlucky, get chased out by rangers when you reach inside part...one way in takes an hour and a half through the jungle, out as well smile.gif

i think i try apply permit see how. maybe can explore furthere. they do allow camping and hiking from their website. Maybe can help in pemulihan also...since the puchong area is encroaching into it. so teruk!

thank GOd, today made it to this forest reserve for the second time. this time with hepi. biggrin.gif

we start 6am, and the weather, is the most perfect i've ever encountered, small rain right before 6am, make the humidity rise, and the entire forest became foggy, and the air wash so refreshing. thumbup.gif

we walk slowly in the forest with the help of flash light, enjoying the perfect gift from god. blush.gif

took about 1 hour to the top, and from there and beyond, is the restricted area, which we decided to trespassing brows.gif
took another hour to reach the small waterfall. and when we almost at the waterfall, heard motorbike noise approaching, and so gan jiong we "ran for our life", coz once caught, the fine is RM50k or jail or both, if i remember correctly sweat.gif

we spent a nice 1 hour at the waterfall, took photo, feeding the fish, and catch prawn (not in my photo, hepi got biggrin.gif ). just sit there, relax, & enjoy the sound of the waterfall, breathing the fresh air. eat and drink as well. thumbup.gif

then took 1 hour return to the peak, and take another route coming out.

this is another best experience, really enjoy it.

after done, bought ice cream from the nearby 99 mart, and that mark the end of one very very enjoyable day thumbup.gif biggrin.gif tongue.gif
