Hey has anyone noticed any performance degredation after doing the VLAN untagging in the VDSL modem?

Im on the 20M connection and using my trusty netgear WGR614 v6 router that has been serving me well for many years with good performance.

However now that ive got the internet and iptv working using the technique here my speedtest to cyberjaya shows ping 22ms, download 18.06mbps, upload test takes forever to run and eventually settles on like 0.09mbps

something is wrong here.. i wanted better performance than the crappy dir-615 for playing Star Wars: the old republic - but this is much worse!

Hey guys. Anyone can help to walk me through the setup of the ZTE 931DII modem for Unifi VOIP?

Im using the huawei 655a but of late the voip is causing problems. The modem will crash and reboot whenever I receive an incoming call.

I have a spare TM ZTE 931DII VDSL modem - Pls Dont ask how i got it wink.gif I have gotten unifi internet (on custom router) and my hypp.TV working fine but I cant seem to configure my voip.

The voip was left unconfigured when i got the modem, though a WAN connection for VLAN 400 was preconfigured. I assume that I just needed to enter my SIP Auth Username and Password which I extracted from the huawei but it just doesnt seem to work.

In the VOIP status page it shows voip 1 and 2 as "unregistered" how ever the network status page shows the Wan connection for VOIP_PTM400 as connected and having an IP address.

Any advice on what could be going wrong>?

For the ZTE modem. Set your LAN port to a static IP of 192.168.1.x and plug the cable to PORT 4 of the ZTE.

Go to 192.168.1.1 on your browser.

Username: admin
Password: hs5711Bbvl

Find the VLAN trunk option and turn it off for port 1.

For IPTV set the VLAN600 service to port 4 and set VLAN trunk on port 4

Thank you, will try this..is there way for me to open other port to access net? UNIFI tech said only router has net access..and not on modem..

Its possible yes but you need to set the PPoE connection to happen on the modem instead. If you don't even know what Im talking about I suggest you dont touch and just follow the instruction there and use a normal router. This is really for more advanced user. people who are not tech savvy shouldnt play around with things they dont understand.
