thx for the link notworthy.gif

i got some question. what does DPU means?

another thing i wanna check is the yield% is for 1 year right?

Dividend Yield per Unit.

Basically, look at the Dividend Yield / Entry Price X 100 = DYU%

So, take AXREIT. Assuming they give 4.3 sen per unit every quarter (4X4.3 = 17.2 sen). 17.2 cents / 2.72 (entry price) X 100 = 6.3%

So your yield would be around 6.3%, which suggests its on the low side if you choose to enter now. Mind you, it is still better than FDs.

REITs are pretty stable, so looking at it, probably STARREIT and TOWER? But my preference for tower came when I bought it around 1.23, it is around 1.31 now so the yield might be lower.

Price usually goes down after announcement and disbursement of dividend, so you can always just look and wait for the right price to enter smile.gif

REITs are a different beast, mate smile.gif

You won't see the sort of crazy volume you see with ordinary stocks. There is no volume because you check the buy/sell que, no one is willing to let go unless the offer is really good.

So you can only que the price you want daily and hope for the best, or you can straight offer the 1.12 they want smile.gif

Total = 1000 * (Dividend Amount, eg 3 cents)
Withholding Tax = 10% of total (approximate, some REITS declare a portion as non-taxable but its easier to assume 10% of total and you'll never be taxed more than that)
Nett paid to you = Total - Tax

So if the dividend declared is 3 cents, you will receive at least 2700 cents or RM27 in dividend payment after 10% tax.

Same as regular shares, the brokerage fee is based on the broker service and can vary.
2. So far STAREIT does.

3. Have yet to happen so no idea.

4. Usually after 1 working day from the Payment Date which is stated in the announcement
Larger REITS like SUNREIT and PAVREIT has a lot of units in the market so they tend to be more liquid, though their div yield also tends to be lower.

Thanks, it was the amount I received, so it makes total sense now.. With this, I assume I wouldn't need to declare it again for my taxes later since it is already taxed?

Final 5.67 + 0.03 TE

[(5.67 cents x 1000 shares) X 0.90] + (0.03 cents x 1000 shares)
= RM 51.03 (taxed portioned) + RM 0.30 (TE)
= RM51.33

Tally with the amount you received?

Yeap, TWR at RM1.4 is making me happy. For REIT, I actually will be making a profit even by selling the stock alone, not to mention the dividend payouts I have received.

Are you talking about REIT or REIT Equity Fund?

I know distributions is not always good. I'm not trying to sound like I want distribution, but just trying to clarify.

REIT. TWR is a REIT stock. Distribution for TWR is currently at 8% or so for me so it is quite good, I cannot say I looked at equities REIT equities.

I think you are looking at REIT and the price movement? It does not really work that way, as REIT's returns are fairly static and people look at the DPU (dividend per unit), you will see the price remains static after a certain level as the returns per unit is not considered "strong", i.e if TWR's price keep rising until the dividend they are paying will only yield someone only say, 4% at a certain price, demands for the stock at that price will be less thus the price can't push higher.

You can check out the Dividend yield Per Unit here: http://mreit.reitdata.com/, and you can see most of the performing REITs will give you a stable 6-8% ROI. I am double happy simply because my entry price for TWR was much below the current RM1.4 per unit, so I am not only getting a decent dividend yield, but also can be assured to gain a little on capital gains if I do intend to sell.
