When buying your own cue..its very subjective.. you have to choose the weight of the cue, the design ( i prefer maple wood) meaning the lines on the cue.. the cue tip.. 9mm or 10mm, and also the length..

this is what i observe when professionals like Sam Chong sold cue's in OUG snooker centre.. was playing at the table 5 and saw him introducing the cue's..

most important is the feel.. but you will need to test a few shots with it.. normally when you're interested they will let you test the cue.. its like test driving a car.

nah.. dun mention about it..

well there is a snooker website to help newbie's as well.. try www.maximumbreak.com
i learn some stuff there as well like how to take care of the cue and stuff..

If you want a beginner and nice cue... maybe you can drop by summit there or One Utama snooker centre.. just helped my friend to choose a cue about 3months back.. very cheap only RM 140 if i'm not mistaken.. gooe weight.. nice length and everything perfect.. just have to get use to it only..

take it slowly bro.. i was once like you as well.. practise makes perfect.. most important get your basics right..

1) Bridge your left hand on the table (if you're right handed) - your left hands must not move or vice versa
2) Stance (the way you stand)

But i started with snooker so when play pool its a lot easier cause you have the basics there already.

This website is pretty informative..

Well.. up to you .. if you like pool more then go for it.. but for me.. snooker more challenging and cheaper.. Pool is about RM 14 but snooker about Rm 12.80 only...

But once in a while i do play pool geh..
