Err PJ is rather far for me, I'm from Klang btw. The table there got as good as the one at OUG (Opposite Stevens Corner)?

Who is Zhumak?  unsure.gif

Any famous players in World Snooker?  brows.gif
*
havent been there before..but i heard alot of hustlers and good players play there...

famous players ah...well two weeks back Moh Keen Hoo played there...Terengganu's Youth Champion also paid a visit...Esther Kwan plays there once in awhile cuz her brother frequents there...

other than that this place is memang low, or even better tarak profile...so I guess its a little gem hidden in the corner

read the earlier post...zhumak is another LYN snooker enthusiast...maybe we can play in Sunway then..since its in between you and me..and its pretty cheap there... smile.gif

hey zeist is sensation white or sensation black for 2007 out yet?

Well, via LDP, from Sunway/KJ to BU/Kepong, turn off into the junction at KDU and go straight for like 150m you'll see a Petronas and right behind Petronas there is a row of shop!! Blitzone is located at the same row!!

It's exactly above the corner coffeeshop called Yu Yi right behind Petronas!!!!

I see, Esther Kwan ah? No idea who she is. Wow, pro chiq player. tongue.gif

In Klang, current famous snooker hangout should be in Klang Parade, called Ace Snooker. There are about 20 snooker tables and 10 pool tables, only 1 snooker table (VIP table) is smooth and nice, the rest are all crap, the carpet is like so frickin thin, color faded and etc.

The VIP table is always occupied by many peoples, around age 40+, some are around 30+. Even if I want to use, I might not have the chance, yea even if I have money. doh.gif

They have tournaments here probably twice a year, you can come and check it out if you want to, but this place Klang Parade is abit farked up, there are many Ah Bengs here, this is what I hate about Klang. I hangout most of the time in Subang. laugh.gif

Sunway got nice table ah? SUMMIT also lousy ler, Sunway Pyramid? Also ler, Sunway Mentari I forgotten its name, the tables there are also lousy. I've been to quite alot of snooker shops back in past, until now I still think that the one in OUG is still the best.

You guys using personal cue? tongue.gif , I'm ok, friendly game. biggrin.gif

I know Sensation White & Black, but I don't collect them due to some poor mixes in the album, and all tracks are short. You own a turntable, mixer? DJ?

woe..good to see people enjoying snooker here. Use to play the game about 22 years ago when i was in England. Back then, snooker was not even introduce yet in MaLAYSIA. It was popular only from 86 onwards. I still have my cue which I bought in England which is a PowerGlide 19oz cue and 10mm tip. I love heavy cue as it gives more stability and powerful drawback just like Jimmy White and Alex Higgins cue which is also 19oz. My highest break is 38 and i have stop playing since 94 after winnibg the interconsultants team games. If you are starting out with pool, i would suggest snooker first as you will be able to play pool better because snooker offers precise potting and also strategy in defense. I have taken part in pub pool later in 98 and rarely lose because of my solid technique which i acquire from snooker. Make sure you guys acquire the proper technique in terms of stance, cueing and sighting. The best reference book in my opinion is the one written by Steve Davis which include some reference from the lengendary Joe Davis and Ray Reardon. Great stuff. I also have the book by Jimmy White for his excellent insight into playing snooker and break building. In addition, I have an autograph by Jimmy White when i met him in London way back in 86. Enjoy your Snooker/pool. Its a real exciting sport.

yes thats the book i am talking about. Before i read that book, i was struggling with my cueing, sighting and also finding out which is your dominant eye to use for aiming. After studying the book and lots of practice , i was breaking the 30 mark. But then to break 50, you need consistency and solid cue action and then the game gets technical because you have to strive for position and thinking 2 to 4 shots in front. Understanding the nap behavior and cushion rebound is imperative, speed of table and so forth comes into play. One thing i really learn from Jimmy White to achieve power and accuracy without hitting the cue ball out of position is feathering you cue close to the cue ball (thats only possible if you have good eyesight or depth perception). And also watch how he use very little stroking before hitting the cue ball. If i am not wrong only a single stroke. Paused before you hit, and sight the object ball before hitting the cueball. Maintain a smooth stroke throughout and follow through completely. No jerking or body movement. Power comes from solid and smoothcueing not brute force. Even Alex Higgins who display a lot of body movement during playing but remains still for the split seconds he hits the cueball. He only exagerates the body movement after the shot. Thats because he's a real showsman to excite the audience. i wish i could join you guys for a game but i have moved on to other interest. Best of Luck, guys, remember practice, practice and practice.

jceh83 : long time din play with u already lo, hahaha. me also not much time to touch my cue...... haiz................

one of the member wanna sell his omin millenium + case for rm350? i think it is kind of pricy, bcos new set also tat price lo.

jceh83 : u looking for extension? i help u ask around, i know some suppliers, and i do some snooker trading too from time to time, i help u ask around see if can get good price.

XZ now very standard also pro place already, worth paying a visit. nice environment and good place for training, tat is my training centre.

Added on September 30, 2007, 3:10 pmthe pause cueing is one thing that my coach always emphasize and insist me to get it for every cueing...... but once u got tat, ur play will be more consistent.

beside the pause, the transfer of energy from your cue to the white ball and then transfer to the object ball is very very important too, otherwise potting the ball can be a little tricky, especially very fine cut and long pot.

similar to a car piston...smooth, follow through and also the grip is so important when you do the back stroke into the forward stroke..keep the grip steady without squuezing it and then after the forward stroke squueze the grip firm..this is to ensure no jerky, or lateral movement in the cue action..just a straight steady and firm follow through..easier said than done..but once you have captured the flow it comes naturally and believe me your potting avearge will definitely increase...this is important when you are using sides so as not to throw the cue ball out of its path too much although you need to compensate slightly for the spin effect, again also depends on the nap whether you are playing against or along the nap...

a small tournament is unlike your normal football tournament...

i've just finish helping out in a small tournament sponsored by Tiger beer in Bangsar and to tell you that :-

1) Loser will have to pay for the game ( if its snooker easily a best of 3 match would cost RM15 and above but if its pool a best of 5 would be less than that)
2) Referees are needed
3) You will need at least 8 players!

would you all still agree to play? there would definitely be a registration fee to cover the cost of prizes and referees..

Hi guys smile.gif

I started playing snooker about 5 years ago but only play every now and then at World of Snooker in DJ. Me and my friends are quite passionate about it and are interested to join some mini tournament for fun (not very pro lol)

Also we started a snooker community as I am sure there are alot of snooker players in malaysia. In fact we just only completed the beginning stages of it.

We are hoping that this community can grow and we can have alot of fun setting up tournaments and etc.

So come support it and make it big! www.snookermalaysia.com
