mmm..... i think better not, unless u play VERY often... like everyday. and bear in mind ur physique is still growing. which means u may get taller after a few years, and may need to change another cue that suits ur height then.... but if u really want to, u may buy a cheap cue, no need branded, just for practice's sake...

out of curiousity, what is ur average break?

nic0805: buying snooker cue is actually good.. as if you want to improve fast.. get a simple cue and get used to it.. but need $$.. when im at ur age, i used up all my savings and bought a millenium.. until no money pay table money~~ just my 2 cents..

doodleman: yeah it's a practice before sea games i think.. but it has the prizes as well.. maybe it's a "friendly tournament" the tournament starts on wednesday..

anyone interested can come and watch they play.. i heard that 1 of the player/ coach - Mike Russell have won 13th title in billiards including world amateur championship ** correct me if im wrong.. ^^

personally, if u can pot more than 20 pts break occasionally, then u r ready to buy a cue... it means u already know the basics at least, to play the game.

no point buying a good cue, but dunno how to do stun, follow, and screw properly. not forgeting the stance, grip, and cue action.

I went to Mega Cue on Friday. They do sell snooker cue. I saw an O'mins (if not mistaken is Millenium) with a price tag of RM290.00. Besides there is also other brands there such as Royal. I didnt really ask the workers there as i do not bring enough money that time. Do you think the price is good or overpriced? Got someone recommend me to go to Cheng Lee (shop near Passion Macalister Rd) as their price might be slightly lower but they drawback is u dun get a snooker table to test the cue.

what model of riley cue you are looking for?

it is not easy to find a genuine riley cue in malaysia or john parris cue.

i personally din play with any genuine european cue before, john parris, riley, hunt & osborne, acuerate, trevor white...there are just expensive stuffs for us.

in malaysia we mostly use omin, master, saroj, Altantis cues and proud locally CM1.

if you want to find thai product, omin, saroj, master or even a unbrand yet product, uncle thai(difficult to search even in google), you can ask for my help.i hv distribute some for hobby. cheers...
