That's nice... time to move more BT over to CIMB and put funds in 1-month FD :-)

Before the expiry of the 6-month 0% interest BT with CIMB, I have now managed to transfer the outstanding of BT amount from CIMB to Maybank for another 0% interest for 12 months.

i thought maybank need to submit 1 month credit card statement together when you need to apply for BT? Your CIMB BT created a new 16 digits account number for you, you can transfer from the BT account to Maybank?
*
Since CIMB created a new account for BT with a 16-digit number, I used CIMB BT statement to apply for BT from Maybank.

How many business days it took to get approved ?
We just submit the CIMB BT account to Maybank, right ?
*
It took 7 days for Maybank to approve the BT application from the day I submitted the application through fax. For your information, I did BT to Maybankard 2 Visa Platinum, since this card will be kept in my drawer forever.

Wow, I didn't know that this is possible.
Since you transfer the CIMB BT to Maybank, did CIMB penalize you for early settlement?
*
Under the CIMB 6-month 0% BT programme, there is no early settlement penalty. I managed to settle in full (via BT from MBB) about 20 days before the expiry of 6 months.

you sure benefiting the most from CIMB and MBB BT plans  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif I would say that since your MBB2 Visa is not being used (therefore no way one can be confused with the minimum 5% payment for new transactios), can treat it like a separate statement just for BT smile.gif
*
That was exactly what I thought, as the Maybankard 2 Visa Platinum is useless to me and I won't use it for retail purchases. Also, the BT balance won't be messed up with cc account.

I would say CIMB 0% BT programme is the BEST, as we need to settle only monthly minimum payment with no interest charged. Prior to the expiry of 6 months, we can then transfer the BT outstanding balance to another 0% BT programme from other bank like MBB which offers 0% interest for 12 months. This will allow part of our money be stayed in the bank and earn a little bit of interest. However, for MBB BT programme, the installment will be split equally giving us no chance to do another BT to other banks again. Therefore, for those who spend big and would like to benefit from the 0% BT, it is better to first do BT from CIMB.

I don't actually promote BT here. It is only beneficial to those who are discipline. Before we decide to swipe the card, we should have already had enough reserve fund to pay.

Bank will send us mail to notify if our application approved?
*
MBB did not send any notice to me after the BT application was approved. They approved it quietly, and I only discovered that when I called them 2 weeks after I submitted the application form.

Is there a limit of BT account can be created by CIMB ?
*
You can do BT with CIMB as many as possible so long as you have enough available CL. Minimum BT amounts are RM1,000 for 6-month plan and RM2,000 for 12-month plan.

There's another URGENT fax number for CIMB BT application at 03-20873688
*
Thank you so much Ronnie. I have been trying 3 times to fax the application form to 03-2087 3588 (as stated in the application form) but all my attempts failed! Then I faxed to 2087 3688 and it has gone through smoothly.

I suggest that this number be highlighted in the first page.

What's your payment due date by the way? Did you submit your BT application even before receiving your statement?

got a question here for cimb BT. let say my first cimb BT account statement date is on july 1st. The last statement will be on dec 1st, and i need to settle all my outstanding before 20th dec. Am i right ?
*
It depends on when CIMB did the BT for you. You can see the date from the first statement. For instance, if CIMB transferred fund to other banks for you via IBG on 20-6-11, then you need to fully settle the outstanding to CIMB by 20-12-2011.

Just wanna ask, for CIMB BT, what would be the best breakdown of payments for maximum gain and no penalties?

Eg,

Dec Approved
Jan Pay 5%
Feb Pay 5%
Mar Pay 5%
Apr Pay 5%
May Pay remaining balance?
*
It's very simple. Just look at the first statement of your CIMB BT. If the BT is approved and IBG is done on 31-12-11, then you will enjoy 0% interest (so long as you pay minimum every month) for 6 months, until 30-6-12. That means, you need to fully settle the outstanding balance before or on 31-6-12 in order to avoid interest.

Any news the CIMB & MBB Balance Trasfer program going to be extended for 2012 ?
*
I also hope that the 0% BT will be extended again. But I last heard from CIMB CS that this 0% BT programme MAY NOT BE EXTENDED.

Does BT Account numbers (eg. CIMB BT account) appear on CCRIS report ?

It is shown as one of your total outstanding balances. It's a liability.
