Ride quality bad is it?
Is ford after sales service really that bad? Ford not even on this list...

hi there,

personally, it think its abit bumpy when riding on 215/45/17 tyres. The pickup is still there, but i bump is just turning me off.

hence, resorting to a thicker tyre helps.

oh yes, managed to bought one set of the Y-Front rims~

To all ford fiesta owners, how's the service, fuel consumption and handling? I'm might be buying one but still deciding.. Appreciate all insights and feedbacks, thanks heaps! biggrin.gif

So, what's the findings between Elantra and Fofi? I like to know from your opinion.

Added on June 25, 2012, 9:26 pm
Fuel Consumption are depending on personal. I just received my car. so far I think it's quite ok for a 1.6cc car..wait I go petrol station again and see what's the reading..hihi..

Handling? very good..why not go for a test drive instead. You will get the feel of it..
*
For fuel consumptions comparison, you guys can refer to here:

http://www.fuelly.com/car/ford/fiesta

Average about 6.8L/100km.

QUOTE(scpt @ Jun 26 2012, 11:45 AM)
Only driven it once and no chance to test power yet since I drove it on a busy road, but I can say that the ride was very smooth.

One neat feature that I like is the totally keyless system the car adopts (1.6 HS). Like for opening the car doors, as long as the immobilizer is nearby you can just press a button on the door handle to unlock the car thumbup.gif And of course there's the push start button too.
I've also sat at the back and I can say it's super spacious and way more comfortable than FoFi.

Overall, it's a very big & comfortable car suitable for family use. Considering other cars in this segment, I personally would go for the Forte since I prefer sportier cars, and it's cheaper too.

Oh and the Fiesta looks quite puny when parked side by side with the Elantra (especially from behind) sweat.gif
*
cant compare FoFi with Elantra coz both from different segments. You should take FoFo to compare.

but personally, Elantra does looks nice!! thumbup.gif

however, still fond of my FoFo HB~ wub.gif

Guys, I'm owner of a new Sedan Fofi. Like to ask some question. Everytime I open my car, the light will turn on along with my foglamp. How to turn that feature off? I believe that's the follow me home function arent they? but suppose they still keep the light open when you close right??

why dont you join Ford Malaysia club:

hi, can any ford focus 2008 owner provide the FC (in liter /100km)? I'm thinking to get a hatchback, either 1.8 or 2.0...

Thanks!!
*
if you can afford TDCi, go for it.

Im driving a petrol 2.0Hatch... the FC is around 12.3L/100km~~ averaged about RM0.22 per KM.

for 2.0TDCi, you can go for average 6.8L/100km, depends on your foot behaviour... laugh.gif

Hi,
I almost buy one Ford Focus Hatchback 2007/2008 last week. I cancel booking due to waiting for better offer of 2009-2011model. I also only passionate for white one and the one i booked is grey color which i not prefer. However this cause me obsessive compulsive behavior which I couldn't have day without goggling focus.
*
try to get a TDCi... went to FOCM TT session last Thursday night... the test drive is damn poisoning...

If 2010-2011 got TDCI model already, try to find diesel model cos the focus body is really heavy.. 2.0 also doesn't really feel that powerful  shakehead.gif

QUOTE(darknessroze @ Jul 28 2012, 04:24 PM)
Dear all,

It has been quite some time reading the FOCUS / Toyota thread, and keep repeating the same until feel like to vomit.. huhu to much information i guess,

from nerdy (zero knowledge about cars)..

Now im using persona, thinking of buying one big bike (dont ask me how much i've read forum / thread about big bike, now thinking back also make me want to vomit again), the price est. RM80k,

My lovely wife (and on behalf of my 2 years little son) manage to convince me not to buy SBK.

"abg beli moto besar, abg enjoy sorang2, syg takut nak naik, abg beli la kereta yg sporty with performance dlm budget yg sama"

budget means

persona (30k) + SBK (80k) = 120k value of car.

so with 120k i have to find good candidate. (one car only as my wife fulltime housewife),

1) new civic .. nahh cant extinguish my SBK craving,

2) new CRZ .. design superb.. unlikely passenger back seat are not for human being. (im not that rich can afford another family car)

3) Used Caldina / Mark X .. hmm.. design no need to speak as im more tempted to performance.. this both car are good torquey but as im not good with so car-mechanic-knowledge.. if got good one im lucky, if got bad one,  i die lor.. with that amount of money buying a 2nd car of coz will invite aunty-aunty , makcik makcik, mak mak membebel.. haha.. of coz they will suggest camry or mpv / suv as more suitable for family.. hehe

4) Ford FOCUS 2.0 Tdci ... Performance (from this thread .. means is good right?).. have some torque oso.

5) used Mazda RX8... love it until read about the FC & maintenance (even ready like studying 'rotary' engine).. deng!!

hmmmm.. i supposed to ask question but from my writing im giving my self an answer ?.. amazing !..

but anyhow.. any comments dear friends. thanks a lot.
*
TDCi currently cost RM128,888 if im not mistaken.

A superbly well designed car for good handling and powerful engine with 300Nm of torque. Fuel efficiency is great; averaged at around 8L/100km.

Car boot is big enough for family use. Rear seat has airCond blower.

I would go for Focus TDCi in this case.

Hi All,

Am considering the new Ford Focus. But really dont know much SDAC Ford malaysia. Hope u guys can help me with a few question:

1. Are there many places to service ford cars? Official and non officials (after warranty) ones?
2. Are the parts still scarce and expensive? Are there many after market or OEM or potong parts available?
3. Why the second hand value so teruk? I understand it wont be honda or toyota like, but it seems a lot worse than mazda or peugeot. Checked mudah and its almost 40k depreciation in 2 years for the focus. I like Ford cars a lot but thats  really a lot more than i can swallow.
4. How would you forsee the new focus be in terms of parts and resale value? I guess these are my biggest concerns...

I would be super grateful if you could share what you know bout the questions above...

Many many thanks in advance.....
*
Here's what i can say about your questions:

1. there are quite some service centres around Malaysia:
http://www.servicecenter.com.my/ford-service-centre-list

2. Actually the parts is not that premium as what others thought; except few things like absorbers which is RM600 per piece. Of course, its slightly higher than Japs but the parts does really last. You pay for what you get. OEM part for Ford is quite rare as its not a widely demanded as those Japs and Protons. Potong parts also quite rare. But we at FOCM has lobangs for all this stuff. You may refer to our specific technician.

3. As mentioned above, Ford is quite a cold brand locally; hence don't expect good resale value for it. If you concern about the resale value, consider to buy a used unit as first owner will take the maximum value damage in the first place. =)

4. Same as third answer above. But i do believe the resell value would be better in the next 2 years as Ford is picking up in the local market.

Hope my explanation helps.

Thanks for ur reply. It is very helpful. +points to u if i cud!

but the service centre is really scarce... scary... i gotta really think properly...

the technicians u mentioned, where are they located generally?
*
SDAC PJ always bombarded by FOCM club.

But actually improving already as their branch manager Edward Lim is working hard on it.

The technician i meant is named Ken, have a workshop ins Subang. I always send my car to him for repair/service. A very reliable person.

But if your buying a new unit, better send it to SDAC to avoid any warranty dispute.

Ford Focus TDCi is like racun....
Awesome car can keep up with Civic Type R from Kulai all the way to Tangkak before the car finally gave ways to me (I was in a real hurry.. emergency).

The handling is super awesome.

And the pickup of the car... the G feels inside the car seems empty but looking at the meter... it is actually very quick.

Worth it in every way eventhough SDAC mark-up price of parts kaw2...
*
totally agreed that the handling is superb.
