The most in details I ever seen for Star Wars, extreme well done!
No regret getting the Star Wars - The Complete Saga Blu-ray Set. biggrin.gif

PQ: 5 Star

the audio quality is also really really great. if you have a good enough audio setup to take advantage of it. audio mixing is great, lfe channel are also lively. definitely a candidate as a reference movie to test audio.

one of the animation that have very good LFE and audio mixing. if i were to choose, i'd say 9 have better audio quality than even kungfu panda.

finished watching both yesterday.

wwz seem to have the best bass content of any movies released this year.
and this year we have a lot of those. ironman3, oblivion, olympus has fallen, gi joe but wwz stands out (considerably). plane crash, building explosions, helicopter blades, car crashes, gunfight, machine gun fire. the bass is like knowing + black hawk dawn + flight of the phoenix all rolled into one.

having watched both at -10 and not hearing any hint of distortion from the subs put up smiles.
movies like wwz, ff6, ironman3 makes it worth spending so much on subs. and looking at the trend of improved bass content in 2013, makes it even more worthwhile to invest in a good low frequency setup capable of handling ulf.

even this had good bass content.
you guys better start ringing up htkaki and junwei. don't miss the train.

nice! thanks.
absolutely! ulf from a good sub delievers dtshdma best. i think it makes all the diference, makes a mediocre movie into a good one! biggrin.gif
*
precisely. a mediocre movie with great audio is definitely better than a good movie with mediocre audio. i never rewatch avatar. and never felt the urge to. faintly remember how the movie went. biggrin.gif

i was under the impression that oblivion is a mediocre flick. until the plane starts and backflip down the platform. rclxms.gif
wwz hand-grenade scene in jurusalem left a lasting impression. there's so many ulf scene in the movie that would've gone unnoticed if it weren't for my vibrating door.

laugh.gif  This two month I feel very happy cause lot of movie have good LFE ( oblivion , star trek , fast 6 , the colony , iron man 3 and  WWZ (the best). Just sharing , bro. Your setup also not bad mah thumbup.gif teeth rattling bass  laugh.gif

lfe and audio mixing have came a long way compared to the past few years.
2013 saw a lot of releases with verry good lfe content. i briefly remember than in 2012 and 2011 movies with good audio mix and great lfe is a dime in a dozen. in 2013 nearly all good movies had great bass in them.

and we still have pacific rim and man of steel to look forward to.
huge robots fighting building sized monsters? yummy.

*
the one that i have have freaking good AQ. better than olympus has fallen and star trek into darkness. on the same level as oblivion, and only beaten by world war z.

no idea which release as i borrowed from a friend.

not if you watch with the entire family tongue.gif
i believe his house is double bricked at the sides. explains why his neighbour never complained about the bass. lucky guy

Pacific Rim

Ok, its early morning and i'm abit sleepy..
the starting scene already make me refresh and awake!
the storyline is simple but its sq really made me awake until the end..for me this is the best movie this year to test your subs(dual subs or more..hehe)compare to star trek, wwz and iron man.
it makes my room rumble all the time..hahaha...and i like it.. rclxms.gif
*
i'm gonna have to do something about the ceiling. and the windows. they keep vibrating and it's a major turn off.
didn't have this problem back at the living room. sigh. thought i'm gonna get lucky with the wood structure. doh.gif

not gonna try pacific rim till i get it sorted out.

Yes,u're right..double brick did help to solved the vibration..
For quad sub u need to do a major renovation..sealed the window, change your ceiling to gypsum board and wood panel, upgrade avr,,projector..etc2...hahahahaah
*
i did sealed the windows, tho not entirely. ceiling edges have been also been sealed. now it's vibrating in the middle of the room doh.gif
can't do major reno as it's my mother's house. she'll cut off my head and feed it to the dogs. tongue.gif

not to mention i don't have any money left. the house in ampang got broken into after a month i moved there. doh.gif

AQ is really good. goes pretty low and there's some pretty good explosion.
the kid is kindda dumb, the story doesn't make sense but hey, there's explosion and lots of bass.

i like. still skipping pacific rim tho.

sorry hulk, your bass just got beaten.
if i recall correctly, the bass got better with the next scene, just like what they did in hulk.

i don't question the logic in any movies, especially action movies. it just spoils the fun.

paskal,

I believe there is abundance of bass in Pacific Rim, but does it extend as low as Hulk.

I have not gotten it as yet, but saw the speclab curves for PacRim in AVS.
*
i have no idea bro.
i've introduced 18hz high pass filter limit in my system this morning. just before playing pacific rim.
i can't stand the ulf. so the system is heavily limited to avoid any dizzying, headache inducing, nausea causing ulf from ever being played. laugh.gif

i did the same to my previous setup where it's also 18hz hpf enforced.

I felt that the bass in Pacific Rim was not as good as Hulk.

Certainly there was an abundance of it, but it felt like a lot of the similar type of bass (foot stomps, rumblings, crashes). Not as varied. I think Hulk extends lower.

I think XBMC cannot handle dtshdma 7.1, all of them shown as dtshdma 5.1 only. Some of the mkv files are as big as 40GB.

On the other hand, DDtrueHD 7.1 are played correctly as 7.1.
*
xbmc can bitstream dts-hdma 7.1 natively. whether it's in iso, bdmv, m2ts, ts or mkv container.

nice to see you don't need a discreet graphics solution to upscale to 4k.

watched thor 2 at the cinema. had some pretty good bass moment in there.
the lossless bd should be even better. that is if they don't screw up the bass track.

finished watching rush last night.
great audio and it goes down preeeetttyyyy low as well. the f1 races are definitely demo material.
a few times i had to pause playback and look back at the door cause it sounds like my son is knocking. turns out the knock is from the movie, mixed to make as if you're inside the car. nice.

slow storyline. but great story nonetheless.
