Noticed that while your file stated as HD-MA7.1 is detected as 5.1 by XBMC.
I am facing the same problem too with all my HD-MA7.1 files. Dolby TrueHD 7.1 are correctly played by XBMC as 7.1 though.
My HT setup is 7.1.

dtshdma 5.1 or 7.1...

.. better than dolby truehd
.. source can be 5.1 or 7.1, 7.1 can be downgraded to 5.1 by most equipment
.. old avrs if cant handle dtshdma usually will downgrade to dts
.. some old avrs can't downgrade dobly truehd to dolby, no audio at all -  which makes dtshdma a better choice
.. can be found in latest 10-15gb mkv files
.. almost as good but not quite as the 40-50gb bdmv/m2ts files (these r as gud as bds)

if u dun hv a good ht sound system, dts is good enough - yr ears can't tell the difference.

but if u have a good ht capable of dtshdma, that will the best audio u can get today - use it!

i try not to get too much into the detailed specs and numbers....

i just notice:

... all the bds i have with dtruehd dun sound as good as dtshdma to my ears on my ht
... the file size of a ddtruehd movie is usually a lot smaller than dtshdma, like 1/2 (i mean bdmv m2ts, not mkv container)
... also, like i said, one of my old avr does not prcoess ddtruehd at all, so i stay away from it

anyway, just enjoy whatever we can get!

My movie for the night , the story about 2 drivers who are world champions but both has a different way in life and character. One good movie that has a meaningful moral insights. Risking it all to peruse the passion of being the winner of it all.

What is HF distortion ?

15 minutes? seriously? I don't think anyone has the right to critic a film after watching 15 minutes.

That TGV is probably has wrong implementation of its speakers then? I watched this in the US at a Dolby theatre and there was no HF distortion, at all.

from the list, seen gravity, great gatsby and frozen. will watch 12 years a slave soon. american hustle won nothing...

47 ronin is a big budget movie but was a financial failure. rotten tomatoes gave it 1/5.

i found it quite good. keeanu reeves' performance is non-stellar but his training in matrix and taichi master by martial artistes like yuen wo-ping probably came in handy although that did not come out much in the show, which could have been a factor in its appeal to the mass audience. on the other hand, i thought the attention to details were meticulously genuine - incl the brush and ink, samurai armor, katanas, banners, murals, seppupu ritual, etc. perhaps if the show did not involve witchy foxen and evil dragons, it would have been better received.

beside reeves, there is Hiroyuki Sanada and Hiroyuki Tagawa - both well known japanese faces in hollywood. plus Tadanobu Asano (genghis khan in mongol). note there are no chinese or koreans faking as japanese in this show!

a serious stab at japanese culture, bushido and myth, imo. 3.5/5. strongly recommended.
