RED...Retired Extremely Dangerous.
Apart from the stellar cast, the movie itself is boring.
The sound effects not fully exploited, esp the 50 caliber machine gun firing away in the car park.

The Lost Bladesman...too much of the same over and over again.
Great LFE towards the end. Story line has huge hole and gaps, supposedly based on a true story.
It's the Three Kingdoms's 90 episodes in 2 hours.

The 'lightning quick', potong stim and lazy ending is  doh.gif

Yes, the start was promising. The cinematography reminded me of Kurosawa.

The Source Code...glued to my seat throughout.
Suspend your logic and don't even try to analyse. thumbup.gif

Even lightning storm couldn't make me stop.
The main threw a fuse during the storm but luckily all the equipment still ok.
All connected to B***** Surge Protectors.

Mummy Returns...1st movie watched using my new projector and 92" screen.
The colours are rich and vibrant and the music score is brilliant.
The Scorpion King CGI looks really 'fake' by today's standards.
Nonetheless, enjoyed it with my whole family last night.

Not much of action, rather slow paced.
The ending rather illogical...
Why wanna deactivate the bomb? Why wanna kill his previous fellow assassins when his memory came back? How the sudden change to a decent person?..why why why....

Fast Five...
I am not a fan of this genre, but this is more of a heist rather than a film about racing cars.
Quite unexpected and enjoyable.

Priest. Rather enjoyable action vampire flick.
Some of the action scenes reminds me of the old HK kung fu style of jumping up to the roof.
The past where Suzie Q throws up two concrete slabs and our hero jumps up and use them as foothold...pure HK kung fu move

Water for Elephants.
Great PQ and the star of the show really must be Rosie the elephant.

Welcome back to HT.
taking a small break from hifi?
Watching movies actually involves the whole family (except XXX shows) unlike hifi with the emperor's spot.
Most of the time, it's a family event for me rclxms.gif

Rango.
The PQ is top class but the AQ disappointing from the SFX point of view.
It is clear and distinct but the surrounds were not fully utilized.
The bass also lacking in the lfe dept and no 'kick' at all.

Hesher..AQ3 PQ3 Vulgarities 5+
Despite all the glowing reviews, I just couldn't empathise with any of the characters.
None of them were likeable and some scene were positively nauseating.
Hersher himself seems like a character out of hell.
Even his 'finale' speech couldn't redeem him imho.
Avoid like the plaque!
Watching a dripping faucet is more entertaining doh.gif

The script was surprisingly good. Tough cop paired with a poofter !

LOTR.... Finished The Return Of The King last night....3 hrs 21 min. Took me 2 nights as my son 's bedtime is at 10 pm. Completed it together last night.
