the best way to quick-stress your cpu is by putting 64K min, 512K max, in-place FFT, each FFT run for 5mins.
64K fits the L1 cache (x2), 512K fits the L2 cache. btw... i'll be soon joining the rank. just waiting for my DTR Athlon XP |

cubchai,
i would prefer CPU Burn-in tool for burn in. I only use SP2004/Prime95 for stability/stress testing |

QUOTE(davidletterboyz @ Mar 5 2005, 12:50 AM) Damn! 12.5x200MHz fails at 1.65Vcore after 18mins of priming (small FFTs)!!!! even my mobile barton needs 1.75v to run stable, and temp must be lower than 50'C, if not prime error. Now priming at 1.675Vcore. Temp is 59C. Hope it's going well. EDIT: |

damn this DTR AQZEA boots into windows at 2.5ghz with only 1.65v, but suddenly blue screen come out after a few minutes.
super pi test: 166 x 12.5 = 1.5V 166 x 13 = 1.5V 166 x 13.5 = 1.5V 166 x 14 = 1.525V 166 x 15 = 1.7V 166 x 16 = 1.95 i'm suspecting my mobo is undervolting. bios set 1.95V may drop to 1.9V at certain times This post has been edited by soulfly: Mar 13 2005, 03:51 PM |

this thread is mainly for high clockspeed shoot out only right? doesn't mean that we're running it 24/7
stress test 1hr is just to make sure that the processor can really achieve that speed. |

if it's really unstable, using super pi will determine error easier
for stress program, i personally thing CPU Burn-in and SiSandra burn-in is more stressful and produce more heat than Prime. U can adjust prime loops to 2mins per loop for faster error detecting. |

It's always best when u can get stable at lower vcore. Lower temp, lesser power consumption.

cannot use lower vcore? maybe u need to burn in.
use CPU Burn-in utility to burn in straight 6 hours then lower the voltage by 1 notch, then try whether got prime error or not. repeat the process until u can get the most stable lower vcore. or else u might also need a better cooling. SI-97 no regret u got D43? |
