The seller told me la it's cikai one.. Hahah..because i regular maaa.. He saw my rim then starts talk about rims.. Then after korek2 his secret,he told me la.. But he told me don't tell anyone about this.. So that he can markup the rim price.. And claim it's original japan.
u go tell ur tire guy dia TAK BOLEH PAKAI punya orang....wanna cheat people like that...
its coz of farkers like him that us buyers have to start bearing alert of scammers and cheaters like that farker.
farking arsewipe...
tell me where this shop is...so that ill NEVER go there.. no need specifics.. just general area will do
Spoke to the mech this afternoon....the rebuild is gonna cost abt 4-5k..lotsa things to be done with "uprated" parts...n the bulk of of the cost is gonna be from the new pistons
boys and girls... Banshee's final lap in SIC.....up to the kapow
some thoughts after track day....
the 550c brake pads im using are totally NOT suitable for SIC...definitely not for me... when the session started i went out... on the outlap i was actually cruising...wanted to warm up everything nicely (except the brakes coz i already knew they have a tendency to fade pretty fast...so i just did normal braking)... didnt even engage VTEC...reach the back straight then only i started flooring... 1 lap later.. i went into the pits coz the brakes has severely faded after only 3-4 corners...i repeat 3-4 corners....and when i went in...the brakes were smoking like hell already. and i mean REALLY smoking...let the smoke die off and i still decided to go out but had to brake much earlier than id like....and even then, i had to step on the brakes really hard... every time i stopped for a short break at the pits...the brakes would be smoking.. even when my engine blew and i stopped at the end of the start/finish straight, it was also smoking..and as u see in the video... i went all out for only 1 lap before the engine blew and yet the brakes were still smoking...
the pads are decently suitable for daily use....but definitely a huge no for track....they heat up way too fast and start fading way too fast... i cant really say much about the higher temp 800c range...
The pads are paired with APP brake hose and Motul DOT5.1 brake fluids.
ill be looking at other brands after this since i have full intentions of going to the track again.... perhaps EBC or Endless
id still buy these pads for my wife's kenari as its a daily use car and these pads are good and bite really well in that scenario... but for Banshee...ill be looking at something else (after the current ones wear off coz i pokai for the engine re-build hahahhaha)
heres a picture of my rotor after my engine blew... very the blue.....all in all i got roughly about total of 10 laps (not continuous) in SIC
as for the tires.. some of u may know that ive been b!tching about the sidewalls of the T1R being way too soft... and goddammit they are... grip was also pretty bad... i had to turn the steering a whole lot more coz of the massive understeer... the tires also felt like theyre about to be ripped out of the wheels... KU36 is the next target....and mebbe some wider 15" wheels... if only it was easy to find 15x8 +35 wheels here...

so just replace piston? how much is the damage?
because over rev ?
motor sport is not cheap to play...
dunno the cause... i never revved pass 8.5k
damage can be cheap... but i went the expensive route coz i have plans to build up the block in the future so i thought might as well do it now since its open...
piston needs changing...
sleeve needs boring (0.5mm only)
some of the valves need grinding work
also my bearings were scratched, at last service the mech said the bearing makan already coz he saw the blue thingy in the engine oil...so doing that too...
im also getting the engine balanced

Damn madman, your video is poisoning me for track day!
do it! id take track over touge any day....more fun....safer... and can really go all out on a track as compared to touge on the streets....
QUOTE(yehlai @ Aug 2 2011, 09:56 PM)
what else you guys change after track day?
me n my friend... absolutely nothing... at most we empty out the boot for track day... we use the same tire and suspension (if adjustable, then adjust according to ur liking) and brakes etc etc for track day...our daily setup is practically our track setup oso.
though some people will actually have a 2nd set of rims with more track-suitable tires like semi slicks etc.
too much braking?? no such thing to me.. i dont believe theres such a thing as too much brakes...though there is such a thing as overkill i.e. kenari with 6pot brakes etc...but still its NEVER too much...
at the end of the day... its ur foot thats controlling the brake force.. so ull need to relearn and ur good to go..
not enough brakes... yes that i believe in and that sux.
take the campro BOT kit... RM10k... not including management iinm
yeah u get good power...brand new parts bla bla bla... but then...ur practically at ur limit...
transplant for 10k.. n u cikai cikai get roughly the same power... and u still have ALOT more room to go higher
i have a friend who used to have a 93T in his wira and he was pushing close to 280whp....now he's changed his 93T head to a MIVEC head to give him a nice and scary MIVEC 1.8 Turbo
Added on August 5, 2011, 1:47 pmoh yeah.... if i were to own an old satria...id transplant an EVO3 in and swap the block for a 4G67 (1.8)....just for registration purposes...
after registered.. stamp the 4g67 code on the 4g63 block.. and put the 2L back in.. and hentam kow kow.. ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
why would i do this... mainly coz theres tonnes more performance parts for the 4g6x series than the 4g9x series...

looks like the ITB setup on the works neo got rid of the stupid DBW and went with cable instead...

1) With brand new performance parts, you get to the limit, but you DON'T GET ROUGHLY SAME POWER, YOU GET MUCH MORE. 1a) What do you mean at the limit? What limit? What do you mean transplant will give you ALOT more room to go higher? You think the 93t block is much tougher? Just because of the block? What stops me from just changing the block, then stuff in forged conrod, forged pistons? 2) Who is your friend? Is he a Chinese? My mech also runs that, but with Haltech E11x + Garreet Ball Bearing turbo. 3) Illegal loophole, not many are willing to do that.
QUOTE(GEFORCEXTREME @ Aug 5 2011, 01:59 PM)
madman,
With performance aftermarket parts, do you still think the limit of a 1.6 92p block (note the 1.6 here, not 1.8 yet) is only 180 whp (that of stock GSR)? It goes up much higher into the 2++.
lemme guess.... u talking about the 92p right? notice i mentioned campro...
as for my friend.. yes hes chinese... but what does race has to do with it? seriously... wat?
he did a BOT on his campro and yeah hes getting pretty impressive power... spent about 14k...but boosting about 0.6bar and cant go higher on his setup..
but for roughly the same amount... u get a higher displacement 1.8 93t... no replacement for displacement..and if ur willing... u can prlly get the 63t as well....and u can still increase the boost a lil bit without touching anything save for some a/f tuning.
for the campros to go higher... alot of work need to be done.. especially considering the sleeve on the campros are known to be so thin n fragile...
with a transplant... u already have a good strong base to begin with.
as for 92p... yeah.. u can go over 2xx....but putting that much power into the 92p will come at a high cost and worse of all u wont get the reliability of a stock engine...
and most 92 runners seeking for high horses end up with a 93 anyway.

1/ agreed...the 4G9x is a decent base to begin with especially considering the fact that there are alot of performance parts out there compared to the compro 2/ agreed but then during transplant all tests etc and warranty usually have so no real issues 3/ true... it was just a mention
but personally for me i wouldnt spend more than 5k for a BOT with USED parts...i just dont think its worth it
to me... the ONLY plus point of a BOT is that theres no need for JPJ. but then again..with a transplant.. usually workshop handles it unless u decide to do it yerself.

another question
if BOT need to rebuild...wat are the parts needed? becos in my understanding...transplant also need to rebuild
*money is not an object but need to consider total cost for both of cos before one to get it done...
rebuild = taking the engine apart.
BOT or transplants typically no rebuilding involved unless specifically requested.
a good example of rebuild is my current engine which has gone kapow!
goddamit...i miss my car so much...next week only pistons arriving... cant wait to run it in and tune it then feel the powah of a high comp 2L

rims ah kit? sorry, how to put it without insulting anyone...... cannot lah! can't trust those rims to hold up when we're in a rally...... track still ok, but all the rocks and jumping in a rally...... i seriously don't know.....
if this project is successful, we plan to sell it as a kit car.....
Good point...i wouldnt put my faith on taiwan rims for rally either
