This Samsung so slow in updating firmware... SE X10 firmware for unlocked phones within already covered almost all regions within days...

The X10 series are all old phones. The Galaxy series are all new phones (except for S, but that's an ex-flagship with a huge following). Guess SE isn't interested to update old phones, even the new W8 uses Eclair, recycling the X8 OS. But this is besides the point, I was complaining about the roll-out speed. Our region X10 got the firmware about 3 days after roll-out, while the Ace roll-out started more than 2 weeks ago and we still hasn't got anything

Agreed! 3G and gaming seems to drain battery like crazy. Other than that, the battery actually seems pretty decent...

Are you using the same apps for all the ROMs? Earlier I suspected some app syncing during standby mode will cause SOD, but now I'm not sure anymore.

The screen is also smaller. Gingerbread promised but until now no news from LG, almost a year since the phone was released already

After you charge to 100, you need to wait some more until you hear a notification sound and a 100% appears on the left of the notification bar.

To you guys who bought the phone recently, where it came with 2 back covers, what is the colour of the side chrome? Is it bright silver or gunmetal? There were 2 versions previously but not sure about now.

Ace is a 1st Android for many people... after that they will know what they want in an Android, and they will upgrade. Ace still fulfills all my needs for now

Nothing lah, just curious. Mine is Onyx Black with gunmetal chrome. I was suspecting that the later batches are all Ceramic White with silver chromes.

Official release was rolled out worldwide on 16th July, but the version for our region has not arrived yet. You use Samsung Kies to upgrade the phone firmware. I'm plugging in my phone and checking Kies everyday

Samsung Kies is the PC sync software. Each manufacturer has its own: HTC Sync, Samsung Kies, SonyEricsson PC Companion, etc. The setup file should be in your microSD when you bought your phone, or you can download from the manufacturer websites.

Do you have friends with unlimited data plan using iOS/Android? They can provide wifi hotspot for you to download stuff.

Can. Samsung recognise the phone IMEI, not the owner. They just check their system and can see the warranty period. At least, that was my experience with Samsung Berjaya

Papago X5 is not free. If you want free, try searching in Market. Google Maps, Waze are some of the free ones.
