i hav confirmed the nvidia can be forced to be used.....

but why the light on top takda.... as in no light at all.. driver issue?? just out of box... drivers are not updated yet..

1) go do backup dvd

2) reformat (can refer how to do backup and factory reset in asus manual book)

3) delete useless bloatwares http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus/38068...ware-guide.html

optional ( do backup registry file and clean error registry entry by using CCleaner)

4) uninstall ATK and reinstall back (dunno why some fn key will nt work after uninstall some bloatwares, after reinstall working fine again)

5) use msconfig to unable some useless startup

6) install 'Windows Performance Tool

@Ivan, so now, try to do benchmark on several games like Super Street Fighter 4, Dirt 3, Street Fighter 4.

And we'll know how much the difference is between Core i5+GT 540M and Core i7+GT 540M. A lot of people have been asking me about this in my Youtube Channel and i can't seem to answer them without any proofs...should have the same gaming performance

Hell, less one light might save more battery
Anyway, I would recommend you to take a look at the Prey Project to track your laptop just in case of thefts in the future (touchwood)

-no noticible felx under optical drive
-keyboard flex not as aparent as in n53sv, acceptable.
-screen lcd bezzle is good, not cheapo feel.. it's solid.
-lid when closed at battery the side if one hand hold frm thr the screen lid will bend..
-hinge abit loose to my liking ... cz the acer i owned the hinge was solid! no wobble. lolx
-glossy lid and palm rest=OMG!!!! fingerprint magnet.. lolx..
-overall, good solid feel.


Temps:
haven run full fledge, going to... so far what i could comment
-surface temperature is very good.(except for the left palm rest are... haha.. but it's not cooking eggs either
-minimum process, browsing.... hover at 49 50 degrees in non aircond room. after fixed optimus... now is at 40~
-the fan can be loud when stressed... is.. LOUD!!!


Performance so far: ( no chance test muc but..)

Played Assasin's Creed Brotherhood, Full High Quality All Max is almost all high.... one or two settings din max....... no lag watsoeva.... framerate tak tau how to get. sorry. lolx
next game to try will be crysis 2... soon...

You try use this program called "FRAPS" to know whats the FPS.

I don't think GT540M is sufficient enough to run Assassin's Creed Brotherhood at maximum settings.

Cause my Assassin's Creed 2 already lag a bit when max..

duno leh.. i put all high... then strt the game .. 15 minutes into it.. ok ah. no noticible lag. though framerate is a better determinator..

i searched sumting hideos about those oberon games..those gamepark those... they REMOVE large chunks of registry...... even other softwares....

I am the owner of the N43SL (Non Jay Version). Just for your information if you plan to have a clean Windows 7 it is better to reformat and install fresh copy rather than uninstalling bloatwares.

Some uninstallation such as those games will cause damage to your operating system (Yes, No Joke). On top of that, to make the functions of touchpad (disable, enable and disable when usb mouse is plugged) you might have to reinstall the touchpad drivers.

Anyway, looks real nice from here yo~

If got red colours, something like Nebula Red, sure a lot of guys will get it. But it's hot pink. So, gold is better choice.

If N43SL comes with red colour (the speakers and all those), its elegant

but i really duno how to really reformat clean..... sigh.. that's the prob...

if you want to do fresh install, you will need a Windows installation disc, just boot it and follow the instructions

Get a Windows 7 HP CD and boot from CD. Then follow the instructions.
Recommended to fresh install as soon as possible before you began to store more and more files on the system.

i edit the registry myself... removed evry reg associated wit oberon.... deleted game park files.. and recycled... gud to go!

no trace of oberon now..

according to a fast search.. the oberon uninstaller tries to DELETE THE WHOLE GOD DAMN CHUNK OF REGISTRY.. that's why alot people hav probs sooner or later afta they uninstall the oberon and game park thing..zzz...

solution.. the shortcut way.. if u duwan full clean install.. ^^


1) open regedit
2)CTRL+F, type oberon, search
3)delete the file (on the left, folder)
4)repeat step 2 and 3 until non are left
5)open asus game park FOLDER
6)delete..

thr u go.. free frm oberon the 2 pid windows destroyer
