Hello guys my software number is now 2.50.707.4,can I use the downgrade method for 1.8x to downgrade?Will that be the same?

Secondly,what is the use of the Goldcard?I bought my phone from SIS instead of Digi/Maxis,so I use MMC1 right?But what is the use of gold card?
