Hi all edifier users !!

I own a Edifier c3 and seriously,i hated the bass when i first got it. I couldn't try this speakers before buying because i asked my dad to buy it for me. Well, there's a few tweaks.

First : http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1314406 (follow this, our bro nismo91 has shown a very good tip for increasing bass)

Second : Rip your subwoofer and you can find a thin "red&black" wire. Replace that with higher quality subwoofer cables.

Third : Stuff the space in your subwoofer with "cotton" or "socks". This can make your bass deeper.

Fourth : Replace all your cables with good, thick cables. You find 'em in garage sales, a lot of forumers selling.

The subwoofer : Photo 1

Stick a screwdriver at the side and try to lift it up : Photo 2

As you can see, i've replaced the original cables with high quality speaker cables : Photo 3

You can put some soft stuff eg"cotton", "socks" etc to make the bass deeper : Photo 4

A closer look at the cable : Photo 5

I tried the foobar befre..well..sad to say it gives mre bass at a lack of clarity

To begin with, edifier C3 is a Sound Quality speakers..it's not meant for booming from day till dawn speaker tongue.gif.

But i replace all my audio cables with custom made cables and my speaker sounds better and woofer more punchy..a cheap upgrade and not a risky way of doing it tongue.gif

But TS, do show us how to "rip" the subwoofer wink.gif

Soldering is very easy. You can do it yourself or you can bring it to any electrical shop to get it done for a small fee.

The problem is that I doesn't know any electrical shop around and I doesn't have those soldering tools with me here. Do you able to help out buddy?

I have change my speaker cables to those self braided with cat5 cable, improve clarity but still the base is somehow weak IMO so if any of you guys could help me with soldering a better cable inside would be great.

Too bad you're so far away. sad.gif
By the way, the "cotton" stuff that you mentioned would be better replaced by Polyfills. Those soft and fluffy polyster that are used for your pillow.

How much bass improvement alone from cable mod? Also since you open it and stuff cottons into the woofer, does the magnet produce heat? any chance to caught fire yawn.gif?

TS, according to those picture uploaded, is the cable of subwoofer is already upgraded?
I'm planning to cut part of the transparent cable(The one given to connect speaker to amplifier) to replace those cable inside the woofer, will this improve the bass quality?

The stock ones are very thin. Take the sub apart and replace them first.

Yes, you can use the transparent ones as well. Wont improve much but you can definitely feel the difference. smile.gif

I'm planning to replace with the transparent one because it looks better than the black and red... but anyway I don't know much about wires, actually the transparent one is it a good quality wire?
I'm actually not sure about the price of getting a good wire and where to get them sweat.gif

Anyway, replacing the wire will void the warranty? unsure.gif

Car acc shop or garage sales. I think rm3.50 per metre. Yeah, it improves alot !

Try watching transformers movie with volume at "40" before changing and after changing the cables.

You can feel the loud thumps of the sub after changing the cables.

Car Accessory shop huh... The red cable u replaced is better than the transparent cable provided by edifier?
I consider using the transparent one because it looks thicker, so long and... like so high quality... just my feeling rclxub.gif
