Think I can get a card by the end of this month if I apply now?

1. Annual Income: RM24K to RM30K

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: A Must

3. Card required for: Petrol, TnG, Hospital fees (in case of emergency), Hotel, Installment plans

4. Existing credit cards if any: Nil.

5. Preferred Bank or Considering CC from banks: Any. I have accounts from Maybank, Ambank and RHB. I always wonder if it's easier to get cards from banks you have an account with?

6. Others: I plan to use the card mainly for petrol, TnG, emergency. But I already have a car loan and personal loan, will this affect my application?

7. Estimated Spending per month with the card: Less than RM1K

Try apply Maybankard 2 Cards first if you don't pump petrol at Petronas. The Maybank Visa or MAsterCard has many merchants offering installment plans. If you have been paying your loan promptly for your car loan, that's a plus point. As for perosnal loan, I got no idea how it will effect your application.

However since your income is not more than RM30K, the maximum credit limit you can get is RM5000. Now, I am not sure what you mean by hospital emergency and I am not sure if RM5K is even enough (and if you have installment plan outstanding, your usable credit will also be less, e.g. your CL RM5K, you have outstanding installment plan RM2K, balance credit RM3K). My advise to you is - for hospitalization, better you consider getting a medical card instead of relying on credit cards. Go to main Finance section, many threads on medical insurance.

I have actually tried applying for a maybank credit card, early last year, but my application was turned down sad.gif could it be because i have just started working?

if so, will try again later then biggrin.gif

emergency meaning i have insurance from work, my husband too, but the other day when i brought my son to the hospital and the MO told us that if he was to be admitted we have to pay a min rm1k deposit in advance before we can get a guarantee letter from the company...

if your application still get rejected by MBB, then apply for UOB One Card.

If your UOB also unsuccessful, try go apply CC from the bank you took your personal loan or car loan.
