If you are paying income tax on the RM60K income, then your annual income should be RM60K/yr. And if you have yet to submit Borang BE with RM60K/yr income, go ask the bank what documents you need.

So the cards to get are:

1. Maybankard 2 Cards where the AMEX earns you 5X Treats Points everyday PLUS EXTRA 5% on Saturday and Sunday but this cash back is capped at RM50/month.

2. OCBC Titanium MasterCard where you earn 5% cash back for Petrol, Dining, Groceries, Telco bills and Utility bills BUT the cash back is capped at RM50/month. Say you charge RM1K petrol to the OCBC Titanium MasterCard, you will get RM50 cash back per month. But if you charge RM900 petrol and RM500 dining to the OCBC TMC, you still only get RM50/month.

3. The UOB One Card may be good for you since you do pump a lot of petrol, however there is a cap on Petrol too. But with this card, it will free the OCBC TMC from petrol and you can use it for dining and earn 5% cash back and other places where AMEX is not accepted and earn 1% cash back.

So with the above cards and if you spend RM2K and above, you can earn up to RM100 per month (or even more) with proper planning plus 5X Treats Points with the Maybankard 2 Cards.

Gen-X. I really appreciate this. been considering M2cards and OCBC TMC only up till now. I thought UOB need to swipe 60x/year or something as you said in your blog? n also I just started working for 5 months now. so not even out of probation period so my basic still listed as allowance only. OCBC ask for 3months payslip and 3 months bank statement as prove. donno can get OCBC card or not sweat.gif

aha. so how would u recommend me do this? max out UOB on RM400 petrol, use OCBC after that on petrol and dining and weekdays, n then used AMEX up to RM1000 on the weekend. is that the best way? biggrin.gif
