1. Annual Income: RM75k

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: A Must

3. Card required for:
a) auto deduction for donation, at RM50 per month
b) occasional lunch / dinner with colleagues / families when it exceeds 100bucks (i.e. less than 12 times a year)
c) occasional groceries and departmental shopping (i.e. guardian, jusco) usually with not more than 100bucks per transaction (i.e. less than 12 times a year)
d) major non-recurring transactions, i.e. air tickets, CPA Australia annual membership fee etc which is 1000k above for each transaction (i.e. once or twice a year)

I don't use the card for petrol as I don't drive - take public transport.
No monthly bills to settle via credit card..

4. Existing credit cards if any: HSBC Gold Card with 5.3k credit limit

5. Preferred Bank or Considering CC from banks: Maybank, PBB, HLB, HSBC.

6. Others:
a) I'm a bit confused whether I should opt for points card or cash bank, because if is cash back, i'm not sure if the transaction is entitled for cash back or not. Noticed that mainly cash back is only applicable for groceries and petrol and i don't usually spend the most during weekend.

b) I just want a card with good credit limit (if possible 10k above), so that in case emergency i can use the card for major transactions (i.e. downpayment for some major purchase, hospitalisation deposit etc); at the same time earn some good points / cash back.

7. Fixed expenses per month with the card:
There is only one fixed expense per month - RM50 per month donation
Fixed expense per year - RM1.8k for CPA Australia membership fee

8. Non-fixed expenses but recurring in RM:
Based on my spending habits, on average, the so called non-fixed but recurring expenses are about RM300 per month max.

Any advice?

Thanks for your recommendation. I do aware that the verification call is good. I did ask them why not call to my hp if they can't find me. They said don't know. That is why i get angry.

It is normal for them to call your house and office to verify you actually stay in that house and work in that company. Mobile phone as it implies, movable, bank is concern on how to track down a person if he/she does not stay in a permanent place or actually work in the company which you have reported.

I was once working just a few days in a credit card promoter company. The agents are interested only in the commissions and will falsify the income etc. You were be surprised what are the wonder they did just to get you the credit cards.

Nowadays, the banks are smart. Those having road shows at the mall will check or print on the spot, your EPF contribution to verify your income.

UOB One card is good card for petrol. 5% rebate any brand but for BHP is (5+2)%. There are also other rebate at Sushi King etc.

I used OCBC Titanium Cards for my telco, utilities bill, assessment etc. Easily used up the RM50 max rebate.
UOB One card is my petrol card and back up by Citi Cash back card when reaching the UOB petrol rebate limit.

For movies click here to my article The Best Credit Cards for Movie Tickets 2012.

For restaurants and cafe discount - that's too general. Check with your favorite restaurants to see if they offer discount for a particular credit card. If you want cash back for dining, then look into MACH by Hong Leong Bank and OCBC Titanium MasterCard where both offers 5% cash back for dining everyday of the year.

Not all dinning places offered 5% rebate for OCBC Titanium...it has to match with the merchant code...Example, I paid maxis bill at maxis centre and didnt get 5% rebate even it is under Telco category. OCBC said the terminal which is used to sweep the credit card mus has the right matching code.

That's true, applies to MACH by HLB too. Please refer to OCBC Thread for more places that do or don't give the 5% cash back and also report there your case, i.e. location of the Maxis Centre. But I am surprised for your Maxis Centre (not dealer or authorised payment centre) you did not get the 5%. My autodebit with Maxis and Unifi I do get 5% cash back. And so far  I have been getting the 5% cash back for my Dining bills with OCBC TMC.
*
I called OCBC on my maxis bill and the reason they gave is the credit card terminal merchant code is not 5% merchant code. i guessed Maxis centre does sell phone packages and some terminals are not meant for phone bills payment. Now I am using OCBC internet banking to pay bill and get the 5% rebate.

There used to be a thread on OCBC Ti Card and somewhere I have sort of "disconnected" from it.

You should go check out the OCBC thread (link below), ronnie did a very good job on compiling the places that do and don't give you the 5% cash back and the merchants codes are stated there too. If kiasu, next time check with merchant the code before swiping to ensure you get the 5% tongue.gif

And if you check the OCBC Thread, you'll note it Maxis Centre at The Garden also do not give you the 5% cash back.

Thanks.
