Wah, got an algebra problem to solve, hahaha. Look like my examples in Earn Pocket Money with CC did not cater for your case.

Petrol get UOB One Card. If go Guardian, Watson, Caring and  GSC also charge to this card. Go check out UOB SMART$ Cash merchants to see if you patronize any and earn extra in addition to the cash back.
Food plus Telco just slightly above RM1K, if can squeeze below RM1K, then OCBC Titanium good for just these 2 items.

Gym, haha, just like what I mentioned in my article on 5Bs.

So we have remaining Gym and Insurance RM300 and Balance RM1260. Insurance if GE look into OCBC GE card.

Option 1 - HLB Essential you get 1% cash back, so for RM1560 you only get back RM15/month
Option 2 - Alliance Platinum Debit Card or Premier Debit Card where you get 1.5% and 2% cash back respectively.
Option 3 - the 42% Balance see if any card get gives you discount at places you transact. E.g. you only buy clothes at FOS, CIMB gives you 10% where RM200 you get RM20 better than 1% cash back from HLB, Or you shop at MidValley, Isetan, Parkson then get HSBC Visa Signature where you can get 5X Points (but then again many shops at MidValley and 1U accept AMEX too).

Seriously, if the places you patronize accept AMEX, even on weekdays you get 5X TP equivalent to 2.5% return which is better than any other credit card. On weekends you can get 5% cash back which may come in handy. Go check out Places That Accept Amex Thread. There are many places that accept AMEX including clubs. MBB 2 Amex 2.5% even better than Citi CB and UOB 1 Card at Pharmacies. DiGi, CElcom and Maxis accept AMEX ( so that you have more for your OCBC TMC).

I don't think Maxis can pay by AMEX online?

Thanks Bro for reading my articles and good to know you found them useful.

As for TNB,  get Maybankard 2 Cards and then apply AutoPay with the MBB 2 AMEX card. You will than earn 5X Treats Points. With RM2K bill, you will get 10,000 TP to offset GST for the first month and the balance 11 months you will get RM2K x 11 x 5TP = 110,0000 TP  drool.gif And if you use on weekends, can get max RM50 cash back too  thumbup.gif

Click here to AMEX site to read mor about Auto Pay.

For Telcos and Astro, you can just do auto debit with them directly and not necessary got to fill the AutoPay form with AMEX.

I think pay manually on weekend on each month is better to get another 5% cash rebate! smile.gif

Added on October 21, 2011, 10:47 pmRHB just released a platinum card which gives 15% on dining!!

i never play golf with client or coz of biz. all this time just to have fun with fren laugh.gif

not just weekend, even weekdays also cannot use amex @ tnb! sweat.gif

That means the only way to pay TNB bill with AMEX is with AutoPay ? But this doesn't guarantee the crediting is done on weekends on each month

I'm using Citibank Clear Card since 2004. Recently, I just got myself OCBC Titanium Mastercard, my intention is to cancel my Citibank card once my installment payments are settled because I find the cash rebate is more rewarding than collect points. I'm currently looking another card to complement in case the monthly rebate RM50 is exceeded.

1. Annual Income: RM150K

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: A Must and also GST waiver!

3. Card required for: Petrol, Insurance Premium, Overseas Transactions, Free LCCT Lounge Access , Cash Rebate or Higher points

4. Existing credit cards if any: Citibank Clear and OCBC Titanium

5. Preferred Bank or Considering CC from banks: No

7. Estimated Spending per month with the card: Average 3k

For local use, MBB 2 AMEX for it's 5X TP
For overseas use, Maybank VI for its 5X TP

Ok let's put aside MBB2 AMEX, currently I have SCB Platinum Business Visa which has the combined 1% rewards (0.5% for unlimited cash back and 0.5% for points), I wonder is there any other card that is better than this card?

If put MBB 2 AMEX aside, then AMEX's AMEX cards with Turbo points is good since one earns unlimited 1.5% cash back credited into account. Actually all AMEX's AMEX cards earns the cardholder minimum 1% cash back with minimum 2X MR (for plat can go up to 10X MR).

you getting 0.5% returns from SCB points? For non AMEX, I think HLB Essential with 1% pure cash back is better.

Edited/More comments

Let's do a comparison based on shopping vouchers SCB Business versus MBB VI for local transactions (for overseas no need to compare lah)

SCB - Isetan and Giant RM50 voucher needs 12000 points (0.416%) and when consider 0.5% cash back total = 0.92%
SCB - Hush Puppies, MJ, Courts, Guardian and Popular RM50 voucher needs 12,500 (0.4%) and when consider 0.5% cash back total = 0.9%
SCB - KFC, McD and Tesco RM50 voucher needs 13000 points and when consider 0.5% cash back total = 0.88%
SCB - Jusco (AEON) - RM50 voucher needs 13,500 points and when consider 0.5% cash back total = 0.87%

versus MBB VI 2X Treats Points for local transactions

Popular, Giant and TESCO RM10 voucher 3000 points or 0.66% (stay away from RM10 voucher with 3000 points, better wait as MBB Treats Points are evergreen)
McD - RM10 voucher 2700 points of 0.74% (still not worth it)
Tesco and Giant RM50 voucher 11000 points or 0.9% (here SCB for Giant better)
Jusco (AEON) RM100 voucher 21000 points or 0.95%
Hush Puppies RM50 voucher 8500 points or 1.17%
MJ RM50 voucher 9000 points or 1.11%
Coffee Bean RM10 voucher 1800 points or 1.11%

So from above, it looks like if want unlimited cash back, HLB Essential at 1% better than SCB. But if your MBB card earns you 2X Treats Points and you don't mind getting cash vouchers, then maybe MBB 2X TP better if you patronize the merchants that offer RM50 vouchers for less than 10,000 points.

But if merchant can use MBB 2 AMEX (for local transactions), it's a no brainer.

MBB VI is it MBB Visa Infinite? Is the MBB2 MasterCard that comes with the MBB2 AMEX give 2X TP as well?
