1. Annual Income:

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Must.

3. Card required for: Cash back/rebate, points redemption, buying large ticket items, option for 24/36 months interest free payment (not critical)

4. Existing credit cards if any: Nil

5. Preferred Bank or Considering CC from banks: Maybank, Public bank

6. Others: Interested to get a CC to pay for large ticket items without needing to bring cash along. Good for cashback, points when paying for gadgets.

7. Estimated Spending per month with the card: Typically per month <500, when need to buy gadgets then whatever it costs, but typically <3k. Maybe twice a year only.

I'm waiting for the appeal on the OCBC TiMC, it got rejected. Applied that before I sent in application for M2.

Now sent in additional documents to prove that my company did change name -.-'.

Added on April 17, 2012, 8:52 am@Gen-X, well that rebates of 2% doesn't look interesting because it's tiered.
I am reading through the application form and they explained. Alliance bank's website isn't very informative as well. Thanks though.

Most reputable shops won't charge extra for AMEX payment.

Heck, some maxis shops even charge extra for any CC payment.

Oh, thanks hye. There's a maxis shop in my area that always wants 2.5% extra for CC payment for mobile phone purchase. Boycotted them, but didn't know can report.

Bro, try not to do instalment if you can't afford the actual price upfront.
My friends are in debt cause of this.

But for petrol and utilities, you can try either OCBC Titanium or Maybank2 AMEX + VISA or MC.

1. Annual Income: -

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Must

3. Card required for: 1) Hotel 2) Food

4. Existing credit cards if any: M2K

5. Preferred Bank or Considering CC from banks: Doesn't matter, payment through IBG

6. Others: OCBC Rejected my application because company changed name, offer letter stated the new name with reference to old company name. But since my payslip still showed the old company name. OCBC outright rejected the application. Qualified income wise.
I only use this for work-travel related expenses. Hotel bills, taxi (overseas if ever), food.

7. Estimated Spending per month with the card: Below 3k, depends on how much i travel (domestic) for work.

If you pay income tax, write an appeal to OCBC and enclose your BE form (tax receipt too) and or EPF Statement to proof your income.

And since you need a card for work related expenses and you got MBB 2 Card, I guess you need another card from a different issuer more as a stand by card. Therefore the only criteria I see is you need a FREE FOR LIFE card that saves you the hassle to call in for annual fee waiver.

Options:

Alliance Bank (free with 12 swipes) - cash back (for petrol too) plus points.
HSBC (free with 12 swipes) - points only nothing for petrol unless there is a promotion. Or if you want cash back. consider their Amanah card.
PBB - also free with 12 swipes but you earn miserable cash back starting at 0.3%
CIMB cards most are free.

If you don't mind the hassle to call in to get the annual fee waived, any card also can do  tongue.gif Go check out the banks websites and see which card having promotion offering cash or gifts e.g. Citibank and SCB.

2012 is the first year I paying for income tax.

And Dec 2011 was my first income in Malaysia.

I sent my BE form for 2011 income tax filing to the agent, but after that also no news.

Yes, I need a card for work related expenses, at the moment I pay using the MBB cards, but sometimes the hotel/food bills almost hit my CL.

I don't usually spend for myself, but at times I need to calculate if I have enough to pay for my next trip.
CL given is 1.7x my monthly salary. lol...
or 10% of my annual after bonus.

Why submit to tax agent?  You mean LHDN? You did not make a copy for your records? If no, then use EPF statement lah. Try appeal if you really want the OCBC TMC.
read my reply above where I posted after only seeing your post. Since you earn more than RM50K, don't waste your time getting UOB One Card when you can qualify for better cards.

I mean I submitted to the CC agent, she was handling for me from my first application.
I gave her all my income tax records.
She appealed my rejection but end up also no use, I think she appealed twice even.

For Dining only - MACH by Hong Leong Bank offers 5% cash back. Sign up for the Trendsetter Package when you apply for the card.

For Insurance, better use your MBB 2 Visa or MC where it earns you 1X TP compared to MACH miserable 0.2% cash back.
*
I'm reading the product disclosure sheet of the MACH, the annual fee is 100+ per card.
And no mention on fee waiver.

I also read your website and it states that only 3 MCC codes for dining have the 5% cashback.
