To All Newbies:

observe the above scenario, which is very common among us credit card users (including me) -

1. We all initially choose a card that can benefit us. In above example, the OCBC TMC was chosen because it offers 5% cash back for our expenses required for our daily survival, i.e. Petrol Dining, Groceries, Utilties Bills and Telco Bills.
2. But with free easy credit, we go buy stuff (that is not required for our daily survival) we otherwise would not with cash (as we will think twice before we go burn RM8K cash we are holding in our hands, example above massage chair).
3. 0% Installment Plan is not FREE money but a debt you need to repay.

Conclusion - most people with credit cards will end up spending more that those using cash to pay for stuff.

Is there any Visa cc that offer free lifetime annual fee beside of MBB 2 cards coz I already got them (Master+Amex) or can I apply for the same package but this time Visa+Amex
*
If your main concern is free AF, you may try CIMB credit card.
No use to get another Mbb2 combo, as the monthly cashback limit will be shared.

1. Annual Income: RM86K

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: A Must

3. Card required for: Petrol, Overseas Transactions, sat/sun groceries transaction, 0% installment plan

4. Existing credit cards if any: Citibank Gold Card (just terminated)

5. Looking at CC from: no preferences

6. Others: please suggest 2-3 cards from the most recommended to recommended
*
Since u do not enclose monthly expense pattern, i will suggest to go for Mbb2 cards and Ocbc Titanium.

Mbb2 cards
- Free AF and GST can be offset by using 10k TP.
- use Amex for weekend transaction( petrol/grocery+ any transaction) for 5% cashback + 5x treatpoints. cashback amount cap at Rm50 per month.
- use master/visa for better oversea transaction due lowest currency offered by Mbb. For 0% installment, i would say 99% of shops accept Mbb credit card.

Ocbc Titanium
- Free AF if swipe 12 times per year, GST can be offset if you spend 10k per year.
- 5% cashback everyday for petrol, groceries, bills and dining.
- 1% cashback for all others transactions.
- cashback amount cap at Rm50 per month.

I using both cards now and pretty well cover all my monthly spending. rclxms.gif

*
Why always pay at due date?? 1-2 days are standard process time for IBG.
