So how long does it take to finish the storyline, from let's say 1-50 ?

Highly depends on how much enthusiasm you have on the Star Wars series.

The first 30 levels was interesting for me. So it only took me a week to get there. From 30 to 40 it was on and off .
Level 40 to 50 was very slow for me, Hoth while being a beautiful ice world but a boring world to quest in .
I do say it takes me a month roughly.

Having 5 characters at lvl 50 now its safe to say I dont have anymore incentive to level another new character and I am done with SWTOR .

the one thing SWTOR has compared to other games : great mission story telling. not like other games where they just make you read texts.
*
It was great at the start . At least you get to meet some charming Quest NPC with true characteristic , quirky conversation but towards the end you can see how much of the content is rushed .
Everything was going back to the old classic ' Go X , kill Y numbers of Z' . Nothing new except to sleep through piles of dialogue that means nothing but boringness. ( even to the fans of Star wars )

I was wishing they make the space mission with more incentive to play and more rewarding experience but it was left out entirely.
And been almost a year, theres practically no expansion to the story as much as they had promised us ACT 4 months ago. Nothing on the companion story progression.

Its no surprise that EA has blow this up again.

I have gave this game 5 months to improve . I have subbed for 9 months and it will run out by the end of August which I have no intention to re-sub.
They had an update in June that have slightly brighten my days for a few weeks. After that they went from that to sinking right to the bottom by keeping silent and abandoned the game for months.

No updates on the websites , on the forum. Servers down for the entire weekend with no acknowledgement.

I can tell they were struggling with all the sub losses and layoff , but its in all these harsh moment you have to outlast the hard times and stay positive and work harder though it .
They just finally gave up and announce F2P several weeks ago.

As a gamer , a subscribing customer what I really care about was the game content and updates . Unfortunately my patience has run out , its a goodbye for me.

TORtanic is what I would called it.

but for now for the first time to play this game i need to subscribe ???BTW which server did u guys play in

If I remember correctly you get 30 days of free game time upon buying the game.

However to fully register your account you need to have an active subscription going on. They will not charge you immediately until your free time has run out.
You can register your credit card or game time card or Paypal and cancel them when you see fit after you are done with the free time.

I'm playing on the Asian RP server (Gav Daragon), and so far I don't experience any kind of lag, quite smooth during both day time and night time.

The game is already free since few months ago. You can create a trial account any time and start playing, but with most limitations. 1 character at one time only. For Republic, you can get through the first beginner's planet, Tython, up until Coruscant which you will eventually get stuck at level 15 (max level for trial account).

Then you can decide if you really want to buy the game and subscribe. If you love Star Wars and this game, want to max out your character (lv. 50) and complete the story (like myself :]), go ahead. If not then don't. Up to you.

I bought my copy of the game on offgamers.com for around RM46 (+30 days of game time) and 60 days game time card for around RM95. I couldn't start playing by just subscribing from my trial account, I still needed to add the 60 days of game time to play.........

Thats not ' free ' to play , more like free to try. As I have answered above , you need an active subscription regardless its from game time card , paypal or Credit card .

say, if you have create toon(s) on asia server

everytime you start the game, do you need to go through the server selection screen, or you are directly go to a page to pick your toons?

my problem is i need to go through the server selection screen, and it took a looooooooooooong time to wait for the list populated/show, only i can select the asia server

according to another thread, they straight away goto screen to select toon, not server.

Toon for me .

Just received an email from Bioware saying I have got 1000 cartel coins.
But only If I resubscribe to the game before the 15th.

Looking at the previews saying how they have put all their effort into the free to play options ( yea you believe that don't you ? ) .
Some new costumes and stupid looking pets from the store , 1 new warzone ( finally after 11 months of waiting , say Yay ? ) but now with restriction of number of pvp zone you can do per week .

So basically they are saying they want me to resubscribe to a game that is going FREE-TO-PLAY in 3 days and in order to redeem the 1000 cartel coins I had been 'given'

Look Bioware , I am not even going to be bothered .

the game isn't fully f2p anyway. subscribers got to play unlimited pvp and ops. yeah, they just wanted you to re-subscribe.
*
Thats the thing , all of the games that went F2P has some sort of restriction anyway , look @ LTORO ,DDO ,COH and AOC .

If they want me to re-subscribe to a game thats going F2P , then obviously the cartel coins they are going to 'give' me isn't much of a free thing.

My problem with them isn't because if I have to resub to game , its how they said they are 'Giving' out millions of worthy free coins to the players, but all of these 'free' coins require you to purchase
and spend money in the game to get it .

anyone wants to let go their account that have few lvl 50's in them? lol..

well might as well sell their acc rather than raging "i hate this and i hate that" to me and let me play...
*
Just because someone is saying something negative about a certain game features and services , you are taking it as 'hate this hate that'
Not quite sure what kind of environment and background you came from then.

Also game account and virtual property trading is strictly illegal on lowyat forum .
The game is going to be released tomorrow as F2P , why are you still desperately looking to buy an account ?
If you are that lazy to level your characters to level 50 that you have to buy accounts yet you're complaining about the hating post ...

same thing , not quite sure what kind of environment and background you came from .

you gay?

Fact that you are asking this : is this your first time playing bioware''s game ?
Homosexuality has always been one of the spotlights on their RPG & games.

Regardless there is no same-sex relationship options for SWTOR at of this point despite they had promised to do so .
But they will eventually be in the game .

wut... dunt think there is such a scene on MMO... LOL

Its no stranger to most Bioware games, erotic scenes are in the game .
There used to be some in the beta but they have taken it out because of the rating on the online game is much more strict than single player offline game .

Was reading somewhere how even showing the female's body n*pple would cost the company a large amount of fine ( talking about several thousand USD )

There are some love scenes, but nothing as revealing as Mass effect or dragon age.
As usual the bed scene always end up with the light off your screen.
